I'm sure this has nothing to do with the cheap gas prices there..

2) There are huge barriers to entry in the oil business. Thats why Joe down the street isnt opening an oil company to drive down the prices. They, just like any other business, are in an oligopoly and are out to make money. You dont hear people screaming when Callaway charges 800 dollars for a set of golf clubs or when you order a pizza for 15 bucks. Everyone is out to make money. Its the real world, welcome." |
sigh
1) 10% profit is fucking SOLID. i don't care what kind of company it is. if you're getting a 10% STRAIGHT UP PROFIT back into your pocket/operating capital/bottom line/whatever, you're making loot. period.
2) people don't scream when callaway charges $800 for clubs, or pizza hut charges $15 for a shitty pizza b/c these are luxury items. how are these even a remotely good comparison to gas? i don't need fucking $800 golf clubs or a fucking pizza to get to work and back.7/18/2008 10:47:08 PM |
