But from my research (read: 30 minutes on google) I've found that the problem is more than likely nurture over nature.

Men use humor as another way to court the opposite sex. Women use humor to bond with each other.

That may explain why women are more likely to use inside jokes or regurgitate a joke or situational humor they saw on "The Office" the night before.

I'm really not trying to imply that women are incapable of creating genuine, clever, humor, (as evident in the number of token professional comedians) just that I do not see it.

There is no "evolutionary" need for it. If they have 2 holes, they meet their dutiful requirement to society.
