When: Sunday, October 5. Meet at 2:27, pack off at 3:08pm.

Where: Durham, near Duke East Campus (but not ON East Campus!)

Hare(s): Lickety Spit & Mr Cream Jeans

D-erections: From 40: Exit 279B (Durham Freeway North) Take Exit 14 (“Swift Ave/Duke East Campus”) Turn right at the Traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Remain in the right lane for about 75 feet. Turn right at the first corner onto West Pettigrew St (which will be before the railroad tracks). Look for hashers parallel parked near the 2nd complex on the right – 2 large white houses (Center for Documentary Studies). We’re just past the Hillcrest Convalescent Center(Is that an Omen or what??).

Dogz: Okay, but they'll need to be on leash - busy road crossings.

Baby Joggers: Probably not a good idea for this trail (see the “Dogz” line – not to mention the hills & PI).

Hare Notes: BRING CASH & ID FOR TRAIL. An extra stop, maybe 2, besides the usual BB. Trail has a little bit of everything. Some PI. Shiggy. Cool neighborhoods. Mexican venue(s).

When: Friday, Decem-beer 12th, meet at 6:30 pm and pack-off at 7:00
Where: Meet in the parking lot of Lake Johnson Public Pool (1416 Athens Dr. Raleigh, NC), which is located just behind Athens Drive High School. Hash start is in parking lot near the public pool.
Hare(s): Homo-Feel-Ya-Up and Chicks Won’t Stick
D-erections: Take I-40 to Gorman Street Exit. Turn left on Gorman (go towards Avent Ferry Road). Turn left on Avent Ferry Road. Turn right onto Athens Drive. Take a left directly after you pass Athens Drive High School (across from Athens Woods Lane). Proceed straight until you see the sign for Lake Johnson Pool. Turn left and go to the back parking lot for hash start.

Dogz: Leashed only
Baby Joggers: No-Go. Busy roads, too cold, etc.
Hare Notes: To celebrate our nations heritage, in particular that of former presidents Andrew Johnson (a Raleigh native!) and Lyndon B. Johnson, who are quoted as saying “We are swinging round the circle.” –A. Johnson, and “I never trust a man unless I've got his pecker in my pocket." -L BJ, the hares are proud to celebrate putting their Johnson’s in your full ‘cold’ moon this Friday.

We’re beginning in a familiar area, but this Johnson has got a mind of its own. Expect it all… shiggy, pavement, playgrounds, and gaping holes. Bring a change of warm, dry, winter clothing and shoes for circle. Beer, more beer, hot chocolate to keep the wankers warm (we hope…acquiring a large warming vessel is necessary first), some snacks, and jello shots. Bring a light source.

Where: Spring Valley Elementary School, 2051 North Durham Pkwy, Durham 27703
Hare(s): Photo Spread and Mystery Hare(s)
D-erections: Spring Valley Elementary is so new, it doesn't show up on most maps. Neither does North Durham Parkway. So, if you're using mapping software or a GPS, use "1292 Sherron Rd, Durham, NC 27703" to get you close enough to smell the beer. Otherwise, follow these directions - Get on Hwy 70 and head towards the intersection of Miami and Hwy 70. Turn north at that intersection onto Mineral Springs Rd. Keep right at the next light to stay on Sherron Rd. Continue on Sherron Rd. about a mile - look for North Durham Pkwy on your right. Turn right onto North Durham Pkwy and look for Spring Valley Elementary school with hashers in the parking lot. If you get totally lost, call Photo Spread at 919-423-8243 and she'll laugh at you for getting lost before you even started trail.

When: Friday, Jan 1, 2010. Meet at 16:30 with pack getting off at 17:00ish.
Where: In/near the University Place Business Park in Durham. This is off of University Drive-
Hare(s): Endangered Feces & Father Weed
D-erections: You can access the business park either via 15-501 from the north or east or west. If you are coming off of 15-501, get off at the MLK Jr Parkway and then take a quick right onto University Dr. at the traffic signal. You will pass one more traffic signal and then at the next traffic signal (which will be University Pl.) take a left. Go to the stop sign. We will either be to your immediate left, behind the building on your right or parked along the side of the road just beyond the stop sign. If you come from the south, you can take either 751 (exit 274) or 54 (exit 273). Either way, travel towards Durham. 751 takers, stay on 751 until you get to Garrett Rd and turn left. 54 takers turn left at the traffic signal onto 751 and then the next left onto Garrett. Once on Garrett, travel about two miles until the traffic signal with Old Chapel Hill Rd (left) and University Dr (right). Turn right here and then the traffic signal for University Pl will be a right turn.

sometimes i wished i liked running for runnings sake but most of the time i just don't, i do like running with a point, either a race or part of a sport (ultimate, soccer, football etc)

instead I'll just do masters swimming, where we balance a healthy lifestyle with binge drinking

What's the Word: The Salty Seaman Hash
When: Sunday, Jan 3, 2010. Meet at 1400 with pack getting off at 1430ish.
Where: Centennial Campus in Raleigh
Hare(s): We Were All Seaman Once and G2B2
D-erections: Meeting up at the Partners Way Parking Deck in Centennial Campus. The easiest way to get there (that I know of) is from I-40. Take exit 295 off I-40 which will put you on Gormon St. If you are on I-40 East you will need to take a left off the exit. If you are on I-40 West you will need to take a right off the exit. Either way, you'll end up on Gormon St. Once on Gormon take a right onto Avent Ferry Rd. A mile or so down Avent Ferry you will need to take a right onto Varsity Dr. which is the entrance to Centennial Campus. Take Varsity all the way down until it ends then take a left onto Partners Way. Once on partners way, take your second left into the parking deck and at the top you will find cold, thirsty hashers. If you are having a hard time with these directions, use your favorite mapping website and enter Partners Way Raleigh, NC 27606. That should get you there. If you really get lost call Seaman at 704-284-2209. You'll more than likely be ignored, however.

Hare Notes: It's going to be cold. Dress accordingly unless you want nipples that can cut glass. Also, bring a dry bag with plenty of warm clothes or cuddle up to your nearest hasher for body heat.

D-erections: Get on I-40 and make your way to Exit 284(A). From the west (284A), turn right onto Airport Blvd. From the east (284), turn left. Heading AWAY from the airport, go through several stoplights, past the Cracker Barrel & past the Hooters. After going through the light at Perimeter Park Drive, turn right onto Jerusalem Drive just past O'Mulligan's, the Babymoon Cafe, and the Asian place. There's a lot at the back end of Jerusalem. You should be able to figure out the next step on your own.

Dogz: Only if they're willing to rescue baby joggers from Lake Crabtree.

When: Sunday, Jan 17, 2010. Meet at 1400 with pack getting off at 1430ish.
Where: St. Charles Pl (corner of N Harrison Ave & NW Maynard Rd), Cary
Hare(s): ButtParkingDevice, Just Paul E.
D-erections: Find your way on I-40 to Harrison Ave exit, go south (if you go north you'll end up in Umstead Park which is nice but not really where you need to be). At the intersection of Harrison Ave and NW Maynard take a left on Maynard and immediately right on St. Charles Place (you'll see a building with Domo Sushi & Cary Optometric). We'll be behind the building in the far rear corner of the parking lot. You can use "160 NE Maynard Rd, cary" as the address for your favorite mapping tool.

Dogz: Yes, but they need to keep their hasher on leash at all times to keep the due to busy roads.
Baby Joggers: Negative
Hare Notes: It may be cold with a chance of rain, dress accordingly. This will be a live trail as the hares are too lazy to scout/pre-lay anything. We don't know where we're going so we are as curious as you. We're pretty sure this will be a very short trail, with no shiggy whatsoever, loads of beer breaks, plenty of virgins and if you're really lucky there may be some Gluehwein (sort of Gloegg) at the end waiting for you - or not. It's Cary... take a shower, clean your finger nails, comb your hair, look inconspicuous and be on your best behavior, otherwise the Caryites may not grant you a visiting permit.

Usually Sir Walter's hashes cost $5. It's all you can drink, though. So, It's worth it. They provide all your beverages (including non-alcoholic) and even provide snack food.

The age range is interesting. It typically ranges from people in their 20's to people in their 50's and 60's. I'd say a lot of people in their 20's and 30's are the main group, though.
