I'm black and white..I love it...However I have had to beat some ass in middle and high school because of it...middle school a black dude was talkin shit..actually wasnt really a fight because we both got one hit in and then it was broken up..but he didnt say shit again......and in high school i broke a white dudes nose for talking shit..he was running his mouth for like 2 min to me and then dropped the n-bomb..i didn't say shit to him just hit him right in his fuckin nose and layed his ass out..

so in short..It's great..just be prepared to fight every once in awhile..lol

i have always checked black, becasue culturally that's what i am, but genetically i am predominately native american/caucasian, and about maybe 1/6 black or slightly less. the only black people that i (think) know of for sure in my fam was my dad great-grandmother. the rest were all mixed somehow.

I am about as white southern tobacco aristocracy as you can get. I even grew up with black farm hands and help living on our property. My family has a long history of culturally based prejudice -- each generation taking another step away from it.

It's hard to describe the kind of hypocrisy that still exists in rural southern America. There is this idea that it is ok to be friends, neighbors, and coworkers as long as you know that they can never be "like us" and that you would never want to be "like them." And I think that is why interracial relationships cross the line. Being willing to join with someone of a different race suddenly says that they can be like us and we can be like them. . .and there is nothing wrong with it.

Needless to say, my family would have never liked it had I dated someone of another race.

Personally, I think that you can be with whoever you want to be with. I don't believe that you fall in love with a person because of their race, gender, or culture. It is something deeper and less tangible than that.

^ don't do those tests where you send in a swab of your saliva for $200.. all of the genetic tests only show you the results from your fathers, so the farther up the family tree you go, the less reliable in terms of percentage ancestry it really is. Half of the ancestral info is gone.

Out my generation in the family, only 2 out of 7 kids are dating/married to someone who's black. (the 7 comes from my mom's four kids and my aunt's 3 kids). So interracial dating is ok in my family.

ok i laughed at this nick because i had a black professor in college who was hysterical and i worked with him one semester on a masters program project. he had some pictures up of his grandson and i didn't know at the time he had grandchildren. i mentioned to him how cute his grandson was and he turned to me goes, "well my daughter married a white boy and my grandson is a swirlie....GET IT! HAHAHAHAH"

ps - mixed race babies i think are by far some of the most beautiful children in the world.

If I were to bring a non-white girl home, I'm sure my dad would be fine with it. Heck, during a rather long dry spell I was having, he once asked if I was keeping all my options open by considering girls of other races if there was interest there. My mom, I don't know how she'd react. I've never known her to really be prejudiced, but then again, I think she's always hoped I'd end up with a nice Catholic girl, and most Catholics tend to be white (or Hispanic). So...

Of course it's all a moot point right now, as all of my girlfriends including my current one have been white (you're attracted to who you're attracted to, and more importantly for me, I've been lucky enough to find a few girls who have felt the same way), but I certainly have no problem with mixed-race couples of any type.
