you guys might be the worst team in the NFL this year...i guess thats what you get for talking shit about the Panthers...they sure did beat the ever loving shit out of you guys last night...redskins fans were pouring out of the stadium in the 3rd quarter...i thought only the Panthers had wine and cheese fans??
they're replaying the game right now on Fox btw...I doubt you'd want to watch but its only 0-0 right now!] 8/24/2008 3:26:01 PM |

^^our first team offense and defense DOMINATED your first team offense and defense...complete domination...so tell yourself its only preseason...you're in for a LONG and painful regular season this year...your QB situation is a joke, your 2ndary is a joke (although your rookie safety looked ok), your offensive line is HORRIBLE...if you guys go 6-10 this year it will be a miracle] 8/24/2008 4:04:25 PM |

Guess what, in two weeks when its over, and the records are back to 0-0, nobody will even remember this game. wooptie dooo 8/24/2008 4:05:30 PM |

the score doesnt matter of course
what DOES matter is how pathetic your entire team looked the whole game...thats not something thats gonna immediately change in 2 weeks
i dont even really dislike the redskins...but fucking 47-3...wow

how can any skins fans seriously defend that?
yeah it's preseason but it would be one thing if the first preseason game we lost 47-3 and then won the next 3
but it was the other way around
i mean i love my redskins but damn, how can anyone not be worried about last night?
our offensive line looked like they were assembled by chuck amato, he of the "uhhhhh all we recruit is fast people, so uh just maybe eat a few cheesecakes and we'll put you on the OL" strategy
i mean jansen i can understand because he is probably just befuddled by actually being on the field
but every play samuels looked like the sitcom gag where someone turns up the treadmill too fast and flies off it backwards
not saying all is lost but you guys do realize that we have to play other NFL teams all year, and with no position other than RB (maybe TE) arguably better than average among the league, it might be a rough time
that said, HAIL, and we'll see 8/24/2008 4:35:42 PM |

^ok, but i don't understand coming into the redskins thread and talking shit when everyone under the moon expected you to win(and by plenty more than 9 pts). For one, your offense could move at will b/t the 30's, but after that it bogged down. What are you gonna do when you're playing the Cowboys or Seahawks whom have offenses that can match yours or better(unlike the Skins)? Eli had a good postseason last year, but it was your defense that won the super bowl. As i saw tonight, he is still lost, and an injury to plaxico would destroy your season. 9/5/2008 2:36:18 AM |

did anyone notice any difference ... at all ... between this team and the teams (good or bad) of the last five years?
- no pressure from the D-line, except the occasional Andre Carter accident (with marginally OK linebackers and a not-bad secondary getting shredded as a result) - decently big plays and potential drives killed by conservative (and just awful) playcalling - a quarterback who looks lost on the field and sulks after every play - bad against the run - poor game management 9/5/2008 2:07:36 PM |

good things for skins fans:
- defense looked good in 2nd half - offense showed signs of life - jason taylor looks healthy
bad things for skins fans:
- QB situation still trouble - 0-1 overall, 0-1 division - QB situation big troble...seriously campbell sucks 9/5/2008 2:18:04 PM |

^ I would also add that Portis looked lively, as did Randle El. Both +'s
on the downside...there were very, very few plays ran for Cooley, who was visibly pissed about it in the 2nd quarter.
He's an all pro.
that's GOT to change, and I'm not even a Skin's fan

^hopefully.
Cooley blew a couple blocks that turned into tfl. Defense had 4 int opportunities and only came away with 1. Just a lot of basic, fundemental football stuff they need to work on it seems. New coach was a little clueless - he better learn quick.
Need to get Portis more involved, e.g. screens, dump-offs out of the backfield, etc.. He's a playmaker, not just a running back. 9/5/2008 2:37:20 PM |
mdalston All American 1028 Posts user info edit post |
I agree (and always have) that the offensive PIECES look good.
Portis is still a playmaker. Randle El and Moss are playmakers, YAC type guys. But our line didn't look very good, and the quarterback that we have in place is not the answer. We won't win the division with him starting. It has taken me a long time to come to terms with this. 9/5/2008 2:43:08 PM |

brand new offensive scheme and it is the west coast offense which can be complicating at that.
Remember how the Chargers started off last season all out of sync adjusting to Norv Turner? Maybe there's hope the skins will turn it on. They looked just like a team that wasn't sure what they were doing to me.
Dropped 3 could've been INTs. Eli was trying to blow it. Would've changed the outcome of the game. 9/5/2008 3:07:40 PM |

Just got back from the game.
Good to see JC able to win a game coming from behind in the 4th quarter.
HUGE play to Cooley on 2nd and 23 and the big bomb to Moss was coming right at us.
Special teams almost cost us the game, AREs fumble cost us 7, Bush's return another 7 and 2 missed FGs.
Was HOT AS HELL at the game but was worth sitting in the heat to see a big win. Need to take care of the Cards next weekend before we go on the road for 2 big games. 9/15/2008 12:16:54 PM |

i must say, you guys looked better than i thought last weekend (though i didnt see the game as i was at the bears game)...maybe campbell is just the type of qb who truly needs preseason games to warm up, whereas you have other players complaining that there are too many preseason games...also nawlins' defense is pretty bad...they've already given up over 1,000 yards lol] 9/17/2008 8:42:17 PM |
