this thread is an excellent tool to weed out people with eating disorders, I've got a feeling a lot of posters took this test and didn't like their number, so they didn't post it. Because they are REAL fat.

BMI is a measure of how big you are, not how fat you are. I posted my score of 37, but that doesn't mean I'm morbidly obese.

I'm not going to claim that I couldn't stand to lose some weight, as I'm currently on a cutting diet with a goal of shedding approximately 15 pounds, but for a chart to state that I'm 25% beyond morbid obesity is asinine.

You're in no way obese. More like a solid slab of muscle.

maintaining weight is simple

i simply do not reward myself for gaining weight by buying new clothes

i stuff my fat ass into those jeans until i can drop a few pounds

works wonders. i have never had to buy new clothes because i didnt fit into what i had

I think self reported BMI's are also a crock of shit because some guys like to overstate their height. Adding an inch or two to your height can make a signicificant decrease in your BMI.

^^^they know they're overstating numbers; they just want to see if anyone else is good enough at estimating to call them out on it.

It amazes me the amount of guys who will try to tell me how tall they are when they're the same height as me, yet their number is still 3-4" taller than I am.

yeah i am a touch over 5'3" and i get a kick when guys try to pass their height off as 5'10" and i'm almost eye level with them. try 5'6" buddy

also in general, they'll estimate the size of something when retelling a story or whatever and if i know the size of whatever the story is about, they're almost always overestimating by 2-3 inches at least.

US currency is exactly 6" long. i bet most guys would say its 8"

I've been working out in an attempt to gain weight, but it's hard. I'm just... a skinny person.

And this thread must have been done like 20 times by now. I specifically remember posting in another one.

working out won't make you gain weight. eating more will do that. If you're not taking in more calories than you burn normally, then you won't gain anything - fat or muscle.

but wouldn't it depend on the quality of your diet as well? I mean if you eat more carbs and protein in your diet than just sugar, wouldn't that give you more energy to work out with?

^^^what you eat is just as important as how much you eat, but that is an entirely different subject matter. If your eating a well structured diet but not taking in enough calories, a workout regimen isn't going to make you gain weight.

lets say you had a diet of 2500 calories from carbs vs 2500 from sugar, would you build more body bass with carbs? this is in an extreme case of course...
