in my case a podiatrist wasnt the answer necessarily but simply a dermatologist cuz it has nothing to do with the nail

i can butcher deer and gut fish. hell, i've even stuck my finger up a dead dove's ass to pull his guts out before cooking. but those pics make my stomach do flips.

? It's not bullshit. A lot of people are afraid to seek treatment for something like that because they don't see it as a problem. Then it becomes a problem and they realize they can't cut the darn thing out and they have trouble walking and it gets infected. THEN they see a doctor and the doctor sends em to a podiatrist to get it cut out.

My nails were fucked up and weird and kept growing into the sides of my toes. Both big toes got infected. Both big toes got the expensive ass surgery and have no nails on the sides now (and nothing grows back).

If this happens repeatedly, get the surgery and never deal with the shit again. If it's just once, dig the bitch out before it goes much deeper, keep it clean, and definitely do the soak thing.

Soak it once a day in the salts for like 15 minutes it it's bleeding/has discharge once you remove the spur that's digging into your skin. Keep doing that for a couple of weeks or so until it looks way way better.

Oh, and if it's infected now, consider getting the surgery anyway. It gets a lot harder to dig out when it gets infected (oh yes, I know, disgusting fucking problem, these ingrown toenails).

what exactly does the podiatrist do?

for some reason my big toenails are kind of brittle in the corners and peel and break if i play with them too much. This will cause an ingrown toenail every now and then.

i did self surgery on one about a month ago and have my nails growing out pretty well. Im trying to not mess with them at all and let them grow out and square them off as much as possible. I may try to get some of that nail strengthener once they grow out more to keep the corners from breaking again.
