it was probably part of her "life plan" to just sit around and spend her husbands money

my friend has been married a year and a half (give or take) and his wife has never worked. he doesn't make a ton of money. I mean, no more than any of the rest of us that're 1-2 years outta school. I think she has, like, a creative writing degree and chalks everything up to "getting published," but seems to me all she does all day is watch TV and play with a dog.

We can't figure out why the girl won't just GET A JOB. It is the most draining thing I've ever seen, on this guy.

She also is NEVER READY to leave and they show up late to shit all the time. WTF bitch you had all day

Wouldn't you get bored staying at home all day with nothing to do after a while?

I know I would.

Though having all day to look sexy and make a bangin dinner for your S.O. wouldn't be too terrible.

haha, no i knew it was about childless families... my mom said before she became a mom, getting a job was a big deal for her, especially being a doctor. but once she had my sister, something changed and said raising kids was her new job. she's the kind of woman who would go crazy sitting around at home with all that free time.

i have already said i couldn't just sit around w/o kids all day

but i couldn't sit around with kids either. like taking care of babies, running errands with babies, driving kids to and fro seems HORRIBLE to me. i mean props to moms that do it i guess. i would die.

When the entire point is the slight digression from the norm ... that makes sense.

I wouldn't mind if she stayed at home about half the time, to clean and laundry and cook and stuff, and perhaps have a weekend job or morning job or something just so she can have money to go shopping and enjoy herself without it syphoning from my paycheck.

If it works for them, why get all fucking bent out of shape

people like to get pissed about other peoples' choices that don't affect them

Exactly. It's not that I thing every woman MUST have a job per se, just that I can't comprehend how a woman could feel that her sole purpose in life is to do laundry and such.

Most people do jobs where it's mindblowing to think of it as their "only life's purpose"

That's a bad way to interpret shit, unless you think a lot of people find their life's purpose to waste time at an office and post on TWW

Well maybe purpose is a bad word. I just can't imagine being 50 and looking back on my younger days and have nothing that I have personally accomplished, other than finding someone to wait on all the time.

The majority of people do jobs that have no greater meaning. If most people summed up their "accomplishments" at age 50 they'd kill themselves

who cares. do what makes you happy

I'm all for doing what makes you happy, just conveying how I feel personally about my own life and priorities. I don't have the most prestigious job in the world, but I can see the product of my work, and that makes me feel satisfied with myself in a way I can't see happening if I did housework all day, every day.

"I helped build part of a widget"

"I helped sell more widgets"

Holy fuck sign me up for an early death

Luckily different people like different things because otherwise there'd be no widgets made or sold

There are no wealthy women here if that's what you're wondering.

If there were I'd already be baking them a cake and fluffing the pillows for when they get home.

Shit, I'd love to be able to spend the majority of my time doing whatever the fuck I wanted to while somebody else pays for it. It'd be like being a child again.

I think most stay at home wives are just bored. I know alot of them. I don't think that they cheat more, in fact it's the opposite b/c they don't get out that much. know of much more cheating from woman meeting someone at the office or work related stuff.
