i remember it being a nice place when I was in those ages, except for random rednecks that would drive by our house yelling "go back to mexico" (i'm not hispanic).

Houses were really cheap too, compared to raleigh.

A convenience store there use to sell illegal fireworks (and sunflower seeds with worms in them).

I'm not sure if they still do. I can't remember the name, but it was a small white building down the road from the Holiday Inn Express.

Theres parts of Washington that are actually REALLY nice....Washington Park/ River Road area etc.

BILLS HOTDOGS is in Washington. Best hotdogs hands down. I think they cost 89 cents each. And the restaurant Mara Bella's.... Fettucini Pescatori is the best I've ever had. Downtown is pretty nice....Definitely better than Belhaven and Greenville.

I like Eastern NC but especially Beaufort County. Things move at a slower pace, people still have respect for God and family, and the scenery is spectacular. However, I spend most of my time down at Pamlico Beach so its a little different than being in town.

It is kinda funny how people "cruise" around the Wal Mart parking lot though.

Of you're looking for a getaway I would suggest taking the Swan Quarter Ferry over to Ocracoke. Its a really nice day trip. Especially if you have a 4x4 vehicle or a bike.

I know one things for sure....If you ever need to hide a body, Beaufort County would be the place to do it. Theyve got swamps and woods that have probably been untouched by human feet for 50 or more years.

people generally say little washington in eastern NC to differentiate from washington DC. You'd be surprised how many people assume you mean DC when you say washington, but then if you say little washington they know exactly what you're talking about.

haha little washington was the big city for us in Hyde County. we would have to drive an hour to washington because it had walmart/"mall" area. hell, we had to leave the county and go to belhaven just to find a food lion. but i wouldn't pass it up if i had to do it again. it's nice and peaceful down there. you gotta make the trip to belhaven to eat at farm boys. you'll think it's the smallest peace of shit but damn good food. i'd love to have some corn nuggets and a beef sandwich over any fast food chain.
