ource confirm to E! News that MTV is officially spinning off The Hills into Whitney Port’s own reality TV series.

Emily Brill, the 20-something daughter of Steve Brill, the founder of Court TV (now known as TruTV), blogged about the news last week.

She wrote, “Last night, MTV’s The City (The Hills spinoff starring Whitney Port) shot a dinner party scene at [socialite] Olivia Palermo’s apartment. Participants included Whitney, Whitney’s boyfriend and Olivia Palermo.”

The City, which will follow Whitney working for Diane von Furstenberg in NYC, is set to begin airing in early 2009.

Ok my thoughts on last night's episode:
If I were Heidi's mother, I would have reached across that table and smacked Spencer upside his head. I couldn't believe how disrespectful and rude Spencer was being to Darlene last night.

When Heidi and her mom had lunch, I couldn't believe how fake Heidi was being at first. Doing that ditzy head to the side thing...It was only after Heidi's mom started to cry that Heidi stopped acting like a brainwashed ditz and actually felt bad for what she was putting her mom through.

And now on the main event:
Doug is a pig. I guess he wants to act like the "big dog" and pretend like Stephanie was all on him when it was him that asked her out and him that was like "what are you doing later? movie night or DVD night?"

I felt really bad for Stephanie. Maybe she should have told Lauren that her and Doug went out...but nobody deserves to be disrespected and humiliated the way that she was when Doug was badmouthing her at the party. I would have marched out there and been like "what the fuck are you talking about, Doug? It was you pursuing me and just b/c you got caught and are trying to act the victim doesn't give you the right to bring me down"

a few things about last night's episode:

I cringed every time Audrina brought up Justin Bobby on her date. I felt bad for the other dude. He probably thought he had a good chance w/ her since he showers more than once a week.

I was so happy that Holly stood up to Spencer. It's about time somebody did. I loved it when he was like "why are we talking about her?" and Holly goes "well WE were talking about her" and points to Heidi and herself. Then when Holly was talking about how LC wouldn't be friends w/ Heidi if she was w/ Spencer and Holly was like "I think thats a change we can live with" or something like that. Go Holly!

The Hills star Heidi Montag unfortunately will be not getting a second year for her clothing line, Heidiwood. Anchor Blue spokeswoman Marla White tells NYMag that Heidi’s one-year contract will not be renewed.

“We just felt that the one year was a great year for both of us, and we’re looking into other options,” she explained. “We really found that we want to explore … what style really means to our girl … and that doesn’t necessarily mean a celebrity brand. It really means fashion and comfort, and we can really accomplish that with our own brand… We’re taking a completely new style direction and we’re very, very excited about it.”

Anchor Blue also plans on opening ten new stores next year.

this morning I saw a Hills special that I've never seen before...

It was clips of The Hills that never aired. It was actually really good. They showed a clip where Audrina had Lauren's cat shaved b/c she was allergic to it.


But the best was right after Heidi and Spencer moved in together. Spencer was on the phone w/ the cable company and wanted to know if their service could be added to his parent's account. The lady said it would be ok but Spencer's mom or dad had to give their permission. Then Heidi gets on the phone and pretends to be Janet Pratt (Spencer's mom). So their service gets charged to Spencer's parents account. What a punk.

so after reading the superficial the other day (CRACK CRACK!) i saw there is an LC blog......so i had to check it out.

APPARENTLY LC and Audrina have been on the outs recently b/c *gasp* LC and Justin Bobby hooked up! least that's the rumor......if so, that's really gross. audrina is at least dirty enough that it's bearable to imagine her with a guy like Justin--though I like him more this season than last. I want them to work it out and make it kinda like how I feel about Pam and Tommy Lee

but--looking forward to next week when Spencer approaches Brent.
