i am still surprised at all the people i meet that weren't allowed to watch the simpsons
i dont think i ever had any restriction on what i watched...and i wasn't stupid enough to watch porn where my mom would catch me...i think i would have been more embarassed than fearful for getting in any trouble 8/22/2008 6:37:59 PM |

my parents believed the news reports that the simpsons were beyond dysfunctional to the point of being antisocial
and then they watched it
and laughed their asses off
so i was allowed after that...though i had been secretly watching all along
mr. bergstrom probably helped sell them, too 8/22/2008 6:40:30 PM |

I remember, it was Full Metal Jacket. I was probably between 8 and 10. Can't remember why or how I saw it. Pretty sure the next was Terminator 2. 8/22/2008 6:45:14 PM |

on that list too is the shining because it was supposed to be so scary but my dad wasn't expecting there to be a totally naked girl coming out of the bathtub so it was very awkward8/22/2008 7:13:58 PM |

I saw some of Predator when I was 5 or 8. As for a movie in the theater, it was Boyz in the Hood at 11.

I remember preachers coming to my church saying kids would want to be Bart Simpson. I even had one saying they'd want to be like the Terminator. So glad I don't live there anymore.8/22/2008 7:18:52 PM |
