I have to listen to it at work, too. It's more fun when you're at home.

Also, this may be a better list of codes than the OP...

My department has moved to plain texts so we dont use very many 10 codes anymore.
so instead of saying 10-38 or signal 10 we just vehicle stop Suppose to be because on a major scene EMS, FIRE, POLICE all use plain texts so we know what the heck each other is saying.

I don't see why the state doesn't mandate that all 10 codes be uniform from agency to agency or go to plain text.

On the san diego scanner they're dealing with an old lady in a wheelchair who got hit by a car. They called it "car vs. pedestrian." No details on what exactly occurred have come through though.

If you want the full scoop on Public Safety comms in Wake County head over to Radioreference.com where I am a Mod/Admin....
Here is the link to the database section of Wake County Info:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1978
And here is a list of Public Safety related files:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?tab=files&ctid=1978
Any other questions feel free to PM me....having done several local Public Safety comm consulting jobs plus having 20+ years of Communications experience gives me a leg up in this area....be glad to help others out!

Oh and we also have a Wiki where you can find info about the different types of radio systems out there and where to look for different frequencies such as Police/Fire/EMS/Airports/Military:
http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Main_Page

and there is another link for NC streaming audio (including Wake County) online:
http://nc.scanamerica.us/index.php
This link has more to do with Fire/EMS than Police but gives ya something else to listen to as well...

And to answer an earlier question:

Quote :
"is there a way i can lock in on the jonston county freqs?"

Depends on what you want to listen to in Johnston County...they use a Proprietary type of radio system in both analog and digital formats called M/A Com Provoice....M/A Com does not license out their digital format to scanner manufacturers which means you can only listen to the analog part of Johnston Counties system on scanners...so for Johnston County you can hear stuff such as Johnston Fire Dispatch, Johnston EMS Dispatch but you will NOT be able to monitor Johnston Fire/EMS on scene "Ops" Channels or Clayton PD, Johnston County Sheriff's Dept and others that use the digital Provoice format....every once in a while you will hear the Provoice agencies "in the clear" when the digital gets accidentally switched off into analog mode but that the exception not the rule....

pretty intersting night, a mob in downtown durham, and a fatality at jones sausage and rock quarry. along with the usual. I love when the NCSU PD pops up. Unfortunately its all boring shit, like checking a parking lot, and some woman leaving an iron on causing a smoke detector to go off

that sucks

had a bad wreck at the nearby intersection a few nights ago, and yesterday a dumbass ran off the road and flipped, then booked it through the neighborhood.

I am going to assume it was the NCSHP cause they are the only ones locally that use "Signal 1" and it stands for "Suspect Armed and Dangerous"...
