Michael Moore: Hurricane Coming During GOP Convention 'Proof There Is a God in Heaven'

Quote : | "I don't think it will translate to votes, like a convention would have done." | Yeah. Media spin will play a big role in this. Obama picks Biden, "it was a smart move, brought a man with a lot of political conviction to the table, someone with real experience." McCain picks Palin, "it was a calculated move, he's definitely going after votes." No shit. They're both going after votes. So this could get played off as a gimmick.
Quote : | "i see it as the govt doing the right thing in this case" | Not to point out the obvious, but the RNC != 'the government'.
^^ Part of me wants to say that Michael Moore is as shallow and crass as he is fat. Then again, I'm moderately ashamed to admit that one of my reactions was, "if the Bush administration and FEMA handle this well, it could wipe some of tarnish of the Republican label, then again it could help the Democrat Party by stealing TV face time." Politics is a fucked up game isn't it? It really has nothing to do with issues, just impressions.8/31/2008 1:56:27 PM |

Dude, are you watching the RNC? Its so quiet you can hear a pin drop. It looks like an AARP meeting and has the diversity of a Mormon church. If half place can even stay alive long enough to vote in November, I would be surprised.

Palin, the governor of Alaska, was a surprise choice to join Sen. John McCain on the Republican ticket. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty had been considered one of the front-runners for the slot." |

Ok I was watching this on PBS and saw Bush's speech live, then decided to switch to the networks just tuning in and I think they did a disservice to Bush because it made him look silly taking pauses in his speech which were actually applause that was occurring in the convention center. It came across better when it occurred live. 9/2/2008 10:08:56 PM |

They followed his speech by a tribute to Reagan, in an attempt to mitigate the damage of an unpopular sitting president with one that wasn't universally hated. The damage is already done. 9/2/2008 10:09:01 PM |

Dear Democrats,
Thanks for having a Fancy set are you running for President or American Idol
Thanks for acting like it has to be a Hollywood Party.
Thanks to the MSM for not really giving fair coverage to both debates. Contantly critcizing everything the GOP doesn't work.
When half the Barry Clones realize the Obama has not said anything other than I will tax Business and the Rich increase handouts to the lazy and welfare abusers. And that McCain is a Bush clone.
Thank you For handing the Republican Party the Presidency again

OK..umm, if in your speeches you like to be reminded a thousand times that McCain was a POW (Like we already DONT KNOW THAT ONE), twisting and spinning Obama's stance on abortion, and reminding the wealthy crowd that the scary dems are going to raise your taxes. In fact it's misleading, 90% of tax brackets get a cut that's far more from Obama's proposals....and the middle class are main benefactors (despite the spin).
That's about all that was there. And Fred you're dead wrong...Bush DOES need to apologize to this country.9/2/2008 11:11:58 PM |

obama is such a joke. why do people get so excited over the notion of change? america is still the greatest nation on earth. the economy was doing great about a year ago so its not like bush has led us through 8 years of economic depression. we dont need a commie to come in and seriously fuck things up just because we are going through normal economic cycles.
i think they've hit that point dead on. 9/2/2008 11:21:11 PM |
