prayers for a full recovery

I've heard of the aura-thing before, and he don't recall anything like that. I really hope this was a one-time deal. He's starting to freak out about the MRI now.[Edited on August 31, 2008 at 6:37 PM. Reason : ]

What's the deal with his shoulder? Does it naturally repair itself if immobilized for long enough? Will he be more prone to dislocating it in the future? Tell him not to worry about the MRI, they aren't really a big deal. Also tell him that everyone on T-Dub is praying for him. That should make him feel better.

Don't listen to him. My son had as many as 7 seizures in an hour. All of his MRIs and CT scans were normal, but they were able to catch one of his seizures during an EEG and it gave them a good picture of what was going on. They had to put Silas on 3 different medications, but they stopped the seizures cold. He has even been weaned off of one and they are thinking about weaning him off of another one.Sometimes the things that cause seizures are scary, like a tumor, but knowing about it so you can get treatment is better than not knowing about it. Sometimes the things that cause seizures are not so scary, like a metabolic imbalance, and that is definitely fixable and treatable. Sometimes people have seizures and we never really know why, like my son, but it is still treatable. . .just not fixable. People who have really bad seizures that do not respond very well to medication are generally epileptic from childhood on.

Well, since you mentioned it, they did a CAT scan while he was in the ER and they said that they didn't see any tumors or anything... so that's good! Also, about his shoulder: he's not allowed to lift it up, pretty much at all. Because the muscles are REALLY stretched, like almost detached (the way I understood it). If you've ever seen Lucky1, he's a pretty big guy, he has a lot of muscle mass in his shoulders especially. The doctor said that someone with his amount of muscle mass would have a lot of healing to do because that's how much muscle detached. And the tendons are all stretched out too.Basically, the doctor told him to keep his arm in the sling all the time to keep him from lifting it. About a week and a half to three weeks from now, he can start doing low circles with his arm, but still no lifting what so ever. Its supposed to just heal on its own by being left alone and not lifting it up. I don't think he'll be anymore prone to messing it up in the future. And he just asked me to tell everyone on here "Thank you" for praying for him, thinking about him, and wishing him well.

Lucky1 cat!He saw the neurologist today. He has to have a sleep study and an MRI later, but just did an EEG today. They're looking at everything, and they'll diagnose it later. So, still no answers.[Edited on September 4, 2008 at 4:42 PM. Reason : ]
