no. but i'm amazed at how anti christian this forum is.
i've had a lot of foreigners tell me that they personally believe that what really makes america great is its values and morals that most of the religions practice here. i was suprised to hear this from those ppl.
its shocking at how much its becoming rejected amongst us though. is it going to turn to violence soon? maybe. give it 10 years.

Note where I state that the founding fathers were not creationist nutjobs. Many of the founding fathers did believe in god and creation, but it's wrong to compare their beliefs to those of the modern evangelical movement (to which I believe Governer Palin subscribes).9/7/2008 5:42:34 PM |

^exactly
so tell me guys. i'm gonna go out on a limb here and list a few important positions in a community (regardless of your religious beliefs) that are important, in order of importance
1. mayor 2. city counsel 3. police/fire chiefs 4. superintendent and principles of schools 5. health manager 6. chief of transportation 7. teachers/professors 8. religous / charitable leaders 9. waste management chief
so, where would you put "Community Organizer" in that list of important positions?
I'd put them def below a principle of a school, but -maybe- above the teachers and professors b/c they might have a budget to deal with.
So Palin is a mayor, and gets absolutely 0 credit obviously b/c she goes to church, but Obama is fit to run the greatest military on earth b/c he was in some cult organization for a couple years????
No wonder her rating is destroying Obamas. 9/7/2008 7:58:31 PM |

I would argue that the founding fathers' beliefs would have been less nutty than that of a modern-day creationist, given the wealth of knowledge that exists today, comparatively. 9/7/2008 9:08:34 PM |

That's a pretty weak site. Some of the polls for certain states are over 2 weeks old, and only use one poll per state.. yeah... I know you have to comfort yourself, but that's pretty empty.
Anyone who thinks, or has thought, that this will be anything but a close race is fooling themselves.

if you need confirmation
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/?map=5 Barack Obama 238
183 Solid 55 Leaning
John McCain 174
142 Solid 32 Leaning
Toss Up 126
126 Toss Up
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/?map=10
it's much closer if you look at this site with the "no tossup states" chart, but obama still wins
Barack Obama 273 John McCain 265
the point I'm really trying to make is that nationwide polling is USELESS for predicting the results of the actual election, since we all know full well that the popular vote means nothing politically
It does give us an idea of the opinions of the citizenry (kind of), but it doesn't tell us who will win

polls lol.
you should be worrying about whether obama is ever gonna develop a non-laughable national security plan, or a way to actually make the price of oil go down besides filling up our tires. 9/8/2008 1:00:40 AM |

Yeah, haha, polls. Can you imagine responding to a thread about a poll with another poll result? God, how stupid is that?

Where did you get this information? My guess is you made it up. Hell, Oprah's in such a tiff over Palin that she won't let her on the show until after the election.
