Have wholewheat donuts ever been made on this planet by anyone? Or how about donuts made of other grain flours, such as rice flour, buckwheat flour, etc? I can imagine that a hot freshly baked wholewheat donut would smell out of this world when broken into two, letting out the earthy and nutty smelling steam! Maybe I should be the one to try it out for the first time in history...!BTW, this needs to be on page 2:http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/001561.htmlBaked Doughnuts Recipe

^^^ You couldn't make a true 100% whole grain donut. It would completely screw up the texture of a donut. There are rice flour donuts in Japan. They're nasty as hell.

^ i guess it would become more like a bagel/bread... still, it would be interesting to try. or definitely a mixture of white and whole wheat flours could be used.are rice flour donuts really sticky/pasty/gooey?

A warm fresh KK doughnut is melt in your mouth good. They're not good for you, but a fresh one is so yummy. Using it as a hamburger bun, just sounds like a waste of calories. If I am going to treat myself to a doughnut, it's going to be hot fresh and a doughnut, not a bun. I am intrigued by the idea of a baked doughnut.

^^ They're really chewy, like trying to eat calamari, but in donut form.

Naw, then they would just become rocks. It's kind of hard to describe. Just take my word that donuts shouldn't be made out of rice
