Tonight's episode was actually half decent. If you ignore the ridiculous plot device of them just handing over complete unhindered control of a full squad of semi-trained teenagers over to some random guy that happened to walk into a military academy and say he used to be in the army.

Okay so maybe I'm mixed up here. But I recall in the first season when Derek was having the flashback about the whole ordeal of how future John sent him back in time. He said that he saw Kyle go into the secret building that had been captured from Skynet. Then I seem to recall someone saying that shortly after Derek and his squadmates went back in time, future John destroyed the entire facility so that it couldn't be used by the terminators anymore. How did Derek's gf get back?

And btw, after Cameron balled up that T-800 into a little ball, how did she manage to get it back to the house without anyone seeing it?

So what caused Cameron to go to that library in the first place? And after she figured out that the dude in the 1920s was a Terminator, why did she bother with killing him? Her mission is to protect John Connor and obviously the objective of that Terminator was to kill that dude who was giving the speech.

i'm pretty sure that every terminator has the objective to kill john connor, it may not be its primary objective, but if they happen to run into him, it becomes the primary objective (i think that happened in the episode where they went to boot camp), so the fact that there was a terminator around was a threat to john, and she was protecting him.

I thought that at first but I seem to recall that at some point she said that he could walk right by a Terminator and unless it was programmed specifically for that mission it wouldn't even notice him. I guess there wasn't a way of knowing if it was still programmed for that.

If Skynet can send back so many, why not send back like 50 at once to all go after him at the same time?

haha lot of 'what ifs' in the terminator series. i still like the show. i've always wondered about the whole 'change something in the past, mess up the future' thing that they seemed to pretty much ignore until a couple of episodes ago.

a while ago i reasoned to myself that once you travel into the past, the future from which you came no longer exists. The terminator that was sent back to far only needed to make sure the building was built so that he could follow his programming to kill that guy on that night, he does not care about preserving the future any further than this. I have also considered that the machines from the future don't want to send too many back at once because if any are found it would give credence to any tales of the end of the world, thereby stopping skynet from becoming active.

Fuck this series for getting so far into my head (the time travel is almost as bad as star trek...)

From the end of the show you can tell she goes to the library to gather intelligence. she only seems friendly to the person working there in order to get access late at night.

the Stark terminator is sent to kill the governor which means he must be doing something to hinder skynet, and so that’s why she stops him. I'm sure it will come up again later
