28-17 Clempson win

Spiller scores 2 TDs - clemson always kills us with that swing pass to spiller. it makes our LB try to cover/tackle him in the flats, which is damn near impossible.
Davis scores 1, Harper w/the other

We score 2 on deep passes, have 1 drive stall in the red zone for a FG and have 2 turnovers.

i hope i'm wrong.

Look at what Alabama did to Clemson. Saban spent the entire defensive gameplan on attacking the offensive line and it did wonders. Spiller and Davis couldn't get any yards because as soon as they touched the ball a Bama defender was on them. You don't want Davis or Spiller to have the ball with the ability to make a couple of moves and break free.

obviously alabama's talent is better than ours, but they gave the gameplan. at least defensively.

Tiggers - 49
Pack - 2

We lose the toss, and get the ball first. We get one first down in our first offensive series on a long pass play that gets us up to the 47. We try to run two times in a row for 3 yards total. We try a passing play on 3rd and 7 but fail. We punt and pin them inside their own 10. Clemson gets a false start penalty. Willie Young and Alan-Michael Cash sack Harper for a safety on 2nd down. All of Pack Nation feels great. We then go on to stink it up for the remainder of the game. James Davis and C.J. Spiller combine for nearly 300 yards on the ground, 75 or so yards on swing passes, and another 120 on punt/kick returns. Cullen Harper passes for 198 yards with 102 of those going to Aaron Kelly (they won't really have to pass that much though).

NC State's defense showing improvement
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/acc/0-2-79/NC-State-s-defense-showing-improvement.html

Quote :
"NC State leads the nation with six interceptions after having just 10 in 2007."

Quote :
"Redshirt sophomore Nate Irving was named the ACC's defensive back of the week after recording 13 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery last Saturday against William & Mary. He leads the ACC with 11.5 tackles per game. Five of the team's six interceptions so far have come from players who had zero career picks heading into this season.

It's not just the secondary that is putting up better numbers. NC State is leading the ACC with eight sacks, and the front four are likely to challenge Clemson's struggling offensive line."

^It's probably from all the extra reps that our defense got catching passes in practice. Most Ds don't get that.

It's probably from all the time the defense has to be on the field. If the other teams run so many more plays than the D is going to have more chances for INTs, sacks, and tackles.

Well at least we are now actually catching the balls that come our way rather than dropping them, unlike last year. I mean to have 6 interceptions after two games when we only had 10 last year is a sign of improvement. Our offense wasn't much better last year anyways.

"Bill Cowher can't stomach State fans' booing

By Adam Harris

Posted: Sep. 10 4:49 p.m.
Updated: Sep. 10 7:26 p.m.

Tom O'Brien is not alone in his sentiments on how fans should treat college athletes.

The issue of fans booing players was addressed by O'Brien on his Tuesday night coach's show. The discussion's origin was fans at Carter-Finley expressing their displeasure with Wolfpack quarterback Daniel Evans during the William & Mary game.

BIll Cowher was a guest on 99.9 The Fan's afternoon show Wedneday with Scott Jackson and Mark Thomas. The issue of his alma mater's treatment of Evans was part of their conversation.

"That is something I would never condone," says Cowher.

A former Wolfpack linebacker and team captain, Cowher doesn't feel that it's fair for fans to boo college players.

"I don't know if it was directed at the quarterback," the former Steelers coach added. "Certainly I think the expectations are very high for NC State."

Among other topics, Cowher also discussed how much he likes the Carolina Panthers this year and how the Patriots will do without Tom Brady with The Insiders."

I don't really see us scoring at all in this game unless Beck comes in and wings it all over the field (ala the BC game last year). If that happens Beck will probably have 1 TD and 4 INTs in five drives, but at least we will have scored

My prediction:

Clempson = 37
NC State = 7

you're obviously not much of a fan if you aren't considering the strong possibility of our defense scoring some points for us or at the very least causing turnovers to put us in the position to score...

We have a good chance if our D can score points.

Our offense will go nowhere except maybe backwards.

Final game score (realistic):
Clemson 24
NCSU 10

Final game score (hopeful):
NCSU 17
Clemson 14

who ever said we were booing evans???!?!?!?!?
i guess the coaches have guilty consciences that he deserved to be booed... they are now making matters worse
not cool Tom and Bill, not cool...

maybe we were booing the offense and playcalling in general

no seriously even though I was definitely booing evans... coaches should never bring this up,,, you get my point

So fans booed at the offense in Saturday's game and the coach immediately assumes it was at Evans. Nuff said.

lets see, everyone starts booing when evans gets pulled out of the game and is walking off the field. yeah i dont get how anyone could think you were booing evans.

booing at the players is a horrible thing to do, but when you can't get a 1st down on your first three possessions against a FCS team I just can't help but boo!
