F1 has changed a lot in the last few years. They don't have near the electronics they used to, ie, the crew chief can't modify the car from the pit while the car is on the track anymore. but computer controlled or not, those things are fucking rocket ships.
As for NASCAR, yes, it is a traditionally southern-oriented sport started by dudes with mammoth balls who ran from the cops while hauling crates of moonshine. wrecking usually translated into instant death, either from the explosion or the gunfire.
My cousin races Hooter's Pro Cup, and his races are usually about 150 laps or more. The last track he raced at was only 3/8 of a mile, which he covered in 15 seconds. that means the whole race wouldn't have lasted an hour if there had not been any cautions. saying NASCAR should be cut back to 20 laps is like saying football should only be one quarter instead of four. stupid. 9/15/2008 3:17:58 PM |
