i just look at the main sports here in the US...NFL, MLB, NBA

there are other baseball and football leagues around the world but none of them pay as much as the MLB or NFL...plus it seems the best NBA players would want to play against the best competition, which is in the NBA...the average NBA players seem to want to play over in Europe and be heroes...if they COULD play big minutes in the NBA I'm sure they'd prefer that

thats not the point. You're diverging now. the point is this isn't the only country he could get paid millions of dollars to play basketball. He would likely get paid more maybe get paid a little less but he would definately still get paid millions of dollars to play basketball so thats that. The rest is for a diffeerent thread.(evenn though the competition thing might swing once kobe and lebron leave then the best players aren't in the nba anymore flood gates open)

what does being black have anything to do with celebrating the Star-Spangled Banner?



I usually enjoy going America all over everybody's asses but I've always thought the Star-Spangled Banner before every single sporting event from high school all the way up is stupid and a wee bit too jingoistic for my tastes, especially considering how global most of these leagues have become. Same for playing O Canada when there's a team from Canada involved in a game.

^Doesnt everyone pretty much play the national anthem before sporting events though? I know Canada does. Besides, if they didnt play the national anthem before sporting events, no one would know the words or possibly even recognize the tune of the national anthem.
