Jeez, I hope I have this problem next year. I'm super worried, with the economy and the field I am in, that I am going to have to take a job that I'm way overqualified for (and pays shit) until something that I am qualified/interested for opens up...

Damn financial industry...

I've gotta say though....I'm totally gonna miss looking at the receptionist's amazing rack every day. She's worn nothing but skin tight shirts since I started last month.

yeah, agreeing to work somewhere and then saying "LOL JUST KIDDING!" really benefits what people think about you

I even said he should go with B, but having a policy of committing to an original job offer doesn't make me "fucking stupid"

HEY, AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T SAY "EXCEPT ANOTHER JOB OFFER?" THAT PRETTY MUCH PUTS YOU IN THE TOP 2 PERCENTILE FOR TWW SPELLING.

I never said I had a problem with it, I even told you to go with B.

But I'm not "fucking stupid" for saying I probably wouldn'tve done that.

passed the drug test (as expected, I'm clean) and I'm all set to start.

now how do I gracefully quit today? I was going to start with going out to lunch with the person thats been training me since I started here and tell her first. But she just told me she can't afford to go out to lunch so thats out the window. Ack.

jump up on the desks and kick the monitors off of them, tell everyone to fuck off, then play babaloo on on the receptionists titties before strutting out

i think that's classy

Go Office Space style and cut open a raw fish on your desk and play some Tetris... then tell your boss to fuck off and go have lunch with the Bob's.

Or just take a leak on your boss' door.

LOL

well I've been on Gchat and Facebook all morning long, and listening to streaming internet radio. Both things specifically listed as against company policy.

Yes, I know I'm a rebel. Just gonna wait till 1pm to go approach the owner.

my piece of advice would be to be as nice and cordial as possible. Explain the situation to them somewhat. There is no reason to burn bridges... maybe they will have a higher position one day that you could come back to if you have the connections

So plz2update in like 2 weeks when you hate your new job way worse than the old one and realize that money and benefits aren't nearly as awesome as a quality enjoyable job...

I kid mostly... but I would like to hear if company B was truly better

Congrats first of all, Pat.

The way I see it: The company you're with now would drop your ass in a heartbeat if it served their purposes. Drop them when it serves yours.

Hilarious upshot from this: a certain materialistic bitch is probably fretting over that Pat-bankroll she missin' out on now

Thanks man, I appreciate that! I hope things are going well for you up in the Rust Belt. And yes, there's probably an upshot. This company's going nowhere but up. 20% increase in profit last year. Energy management FTW.

I'll be sure to do that. The interest to me is pretty equal between companies, so its really all about how enjoyable they make it and how good the earning potential is.
