because that was a pretty lackluster fight

not ginas fault, she did everything she had to do to win it

it just that kobold had nothing better to do than go for the takedown against the fence

and if the opponent has excellent TD defense, and kobold having a rock for a head and good control against the cage, makes for a lackluster fight

gina finally got a chance to open up her striking in the third, because kobold was gassed from the TD attempts

kobold got her down once, and gina had no problem controlling her off her back, im impressed with her win it was just fairly lackluster compared to her other fights...just get the W and get out i say

the women can do 5 minute rounds no problem i hope they change the rule

a couple of my friends were trying to argue with me that this is real. i don't even watch ufc or any of this stuff, but they played the clip for me trying to show how it was "such an ass-whooping" blah blah blah, and my immediate reaction was "completely fake." they were so adamant that it was real, L.O.L.

doubt it was fake. Dude's eye was puffed up like a marshmellow right after the fight. I have seen punches like that knock guys out many times.

If they turn this into an angle, I won't be surprised, but there's no way that fight was fake. He caught Kimbo right on the button, plain and simple...if it was fake (and let me stress that it wasn't), Kimbo should go straight into WWE, because that would be the best selling I've seen since Curt Hennig.

Kimbo could've thrown the fight though. Its retarded that a guy with as much experience as him didn't last more than 14 seconds.

no, just no. He has like 3 fights in a real ring against real fighters.

He prepared for a different opponent, his style lends itself to being open to fluke knockouts and frankly, despite the hype, he just is not that good a fighter in the grand scheme of mixed martial arts.

He didn't throw the fight.

nah it aint all that, theres no way he actually thinks this stuff is fake hes just misguided and ignorant

^^
1) Kimbo is not experienced, i thought that was ibvious to the world he is a young fighter in the game with a lot to earn
2) experience doesnt turn your jaw into stone...i mean caol uno, keith jardine, tim sylvia, jonathan goulet are all very experienced fighters who have been knocked out/stunned and finished within 30 seconds of the opening bell

hell even chuck liddell and GSP have been KOd within 2 minutes, it happens

Actually, probably not a bad idea. At 34, the guy probably isn't ever going to seriously contend for any major titles. By the time he gets as much experience and skill as alot of the top fighters right now, he won't be able to train as hard and he will be slow and old.

He already has a following and a persona and would probably make a helluva lot of money in the WWE.

And Vince McMahon doesn't give a shit about whether or not you can work as long as you look good, so he's got that going for him.

Understandable....but I've also seen Kimbo take some absolute beatings in underground fights and he didn't fold like he did that night.

I'm not saying I believe he took a dive...but I'm not ruling it out either.

Kimbo Slice-Seth Petruzelli Rematch in Japan on New Year's Eve?

On October 4, Seth Petruzelli knocked out Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds, and in the fallout from the fight, the mixed martial arts promotion EliteXC went out of business.

But another MMA promotion might want to put Petruzelli and Kimbo back into the ring together: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that a Kimbo-Petruzelli rematch could take place at the annual K-1 Dynamite MMA and kickboxing show in Japan on New Year's Eve.

Zach Arnold of FightOpinion.com writes that Petruzelli wouldn't be a draw in Japan, but that Kimbo has the kind of outsized persona that Japanese fans love. And Petruzelli, who has worked for the K-1 organization before, including once fighting the Kimbo-like Bob Sapp, has said he's open to fighting there again.

Neither Kimbo nor Petruzelli is a big name in Japan, but a fight between the two of them would be a big draw for HDNet, which has the American TV rights and might be willing to pay more to get Kimbo-Petruzelli 2 on its network.

The problem, of course, is that there's no reason at all to believe that the result of a second Kimbo-Petruzelli fight would be any different from the first: Petruzelli, who unlike Kimbo is actually a skilled martial artist, would likely knock Kimbo out easily, again. Still, it would be a quick KO that would draw a big audience.

I don't think Kimbo took a dive. I don't think he is the kind of guy who would ever do something like that. I just think Kimbo is purely a street brawler who will get his ass kicked by anyone with any sort of martial arts background. I truly believe my karate instructor I used to have could aeasily knock Kimbo out.
