it was buckshot.... Nothing inside me though, I fished around for a while so i guess it just grazed me (thank god) but with the size of the tear and bruising I have to assume it was buckshot.

And thats kinda the point I'm at today. LAst night I was more pissed off than anything and even after he hit me i went into a fucking fit of rage and started trucking back across the yard- Fortunately (for me prolly) the pussy ran inside ride after he fired.

I woke up this morning like "that mother fucker could have killed me...!"

dude, that's lead... and pellets can be hard to find (go dove hunting and then grill the bastards...just like Back to the Future III)...

you probably want to get that checked out so you don't end up with lead poisoning... or any of the other things that happen when you don't get stuff removed and taken care of properly... which I know the gf is an EMT but still it seems like that is just first responder treatment as opposed to proper and full treatment...

^^^Birdshot is usually much smaller than a BB, so if it's like .32" or so it was probably 00 buckshot. Had that hit your head or chest you'd really have a problem. It's not that hard to hit somebody with a shotgun either. I can't begin to describe just how lucky you are to be alive.

My step brother was shot in a similar situation, except he was the drunk one. He went into the wrong person's house and kept demanding that the guy produce my step brother's friend. He beat the dude up a bit and threw him around for a while. The guy kept begging my step bro to not make him shoot, but eventually my step bro had him up against a wall by his throat and he couldn't breathe so he shot my step bro twice. Once in the gut. He nearly died, he only had a 10% chance of living and it stayed like that for an entire week. But then he pulled through.

Alcohol is the worst fucking drug known to man IMO in that it makes people straight up belligerent. I've never seen any other drug do what alcohol does.


^^ The bullet will be encapsulated if left in his body, lots of people have bullets left in them, including my step brother. Most buckshot is copper plated btw, although the pellet probably distorted upon impact with his body exposing some of the lead.

^^^yeah- I figured I'd keep an eye on it and if there's any signs of infection then I would hit the hospital... It's real tender right now and in all honesty I feel like shit and would have a hell of a time driving with one hand broke and other shoulder shot. Might just suck it up and have someone look at it when the g/f gets home though.

Damn man- tough situation/story. he is a douchenozzle and whatever he gets is deserved. I am aware of how lucky I am with the situation and am also aware of the ease of hitting a target with a shotty. I've shot a few- So easy in fact that I genuinely believe he was trying to fire a "warning shot" of sorts and be "that guy" and in his drunkeness forgot about distance vs spread and clipped me. Doesn't change shit- but that would explain his running straight inside after firing

^^ Personally, I believe he wanted to hit you. Maybe he wanted to wound and not to kill but he wanted to hurt you. Warning shots are usually fired into the air (Stupid, but people do it) or more preferably into the ground if there's soil around to put it into.

Do you know where the stray pellets went?! Did they hit a building, car, etc?

He wasn't firing a warning shot, no matter how much you want to convince yourself of it IMO. The dude was trying to hit you.

the only reason i could think of to ask the DA not to press charges on something like this would be if you had a prior altercation that has no statute of limitations and are thus afraid that the cops and/or defense attorneys would discover something that could put YOU away.

^ Like others have said, it's not really a decision for the victim to make. The DA can decide to press charges anyway and I'd say chances are very high that they will. He endangered a LOT of people in that belligerent act.

From what his g/f said- It sounded like, because i never went in for photos of the wound, ems, hospital visit, report, etc that he was being charged with some sort of "firing a weapon in city limits/public place" charge. Not sure though- she was pretty short when i spoke with her and i guess he hadn't said much to her
