I did 6 for the GI Bill and Navy College Fund. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good enough to stay.

But everyone in here is right, if there is any way AT ALL to continue going to school, with loans or ROTC, that would be your best option.

You really don't want to know what it's like to work with some of the dumbest people in the US (Boatswains Mates, Operation Specialists, Gunner's Mates, Enginemen, etc.). Basically, everyone enlisted with the exception of FCs, ETs, and Nukes are functioning retards. You have to LIVE with these people. I remember some OS's having to be fucking physically forced to take a shower because they stank so bad. These are grown men.

At least the officer's are sharing a small room with only one other person instead of 200 dirty idiots and they don't eat at a trough like the enlisted do. It's basically like prison.


But then, the travel is good. The drinking overseas with your buddies is cool. But you can do all that shit once you have your degree.

Whatever...sorry for ranting.

Yeah she and I have already talked about it. She'll be getting there in december I think. I know another one of my possible teachers too, a guy I work with's brother is a teacher in the nuke school.

When I started this thread it was mostly just a realization of time. Like when people start their senior year and are like damn, i've already been here 3 years and only have one left. That type thing. Perhaps we could have brainstormed a list of activites to do before I go. That got blown the fuck up

And how about a guy I swore in with went in to be a culinary specialist in the Army - fucker got a 30k bonus.

I was planning a tattoo or two, but i'm not dumb enough to do it before boot camp

I've cut my hair high and tight for the last few years but i'm letting it grow out as well.



I've heard two thoughts on boot camp. Some say don't let yourself stand out or you'll get extra shit. Some say step out front and lead. Gut instinct is to lead. Stick with that?
