I would tend to agree, but Id say the figure should be slightly larger to account for the effort expended replacing them, assuming they are hard to replace as the article states. More like $6500-$7000.

the real questions here are

a) how did the kid get there
b) how did he hop the fence
c) why didnt his parents or whoever was supervising him not notice he was missing
d) who found him

this kid is fucked in the head for serious. killing animals?

too bad a lion didnt jump the moat and snack on this person

you KNOW if he got hurt during this the parents would be suing the zoo (well, in america they would. not sure how irrational the aussies are)

i kicked some kids off the elephant who were playing so i could take that pic

but i like animals more than i like most people

so i wouldnt break into a zoo and start smashing animals to death
