Describe the smell for those of us who have never needed to smell it?

you cant really describe it. i mean if you have ever smelled a rotting animal its similar i guess, but a rotting person has a unique smell. nothing smells like it, and you will never forget it once you smell it. they say any person that has smelled it before will always recognize it and that is true. its like the woman in Florida Casey Anthony who's baby is missing....if the cops said her trunk smelled like a corpse had been in there i believe them because there is NO mistaking the smell.

you cant really describe it but its very strong, pungent, and unique. If its very strong and if your not used to it it will make you wretch, hell even if you are used to it you might.

I know the smell of dead animal. Small animal. Wondered if it was similar.

I personally think the smell of burning flesh is much worse.
