Every economy type dictates a certain type of social mobility. Capitalism is supposed to create the greatest social mobility.

What? So if we had classical Socialist economy he couldn't have become president? It's not like he was part of the poor who rose up through hard work. He came from an upper middle class family, his mother was a 60's "hate the man" liberal anthropologists, his grandparents gave him a great education and he attended great schools, he had the advantages of being white and the advantages of not being white.

Most of our presidents have come from middle class roots, many even poorer than Obamas. (Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Eisenhower, Truman... )

Anyway, Capitalism/Free Market economics created more social mobility in conjunction with a democratic system, but it is only an improvement over past aristocratic/mercantile societies...
