I can't believe you actually think your assessment carries any weight lol. Bobbing for apples... as if you are not bobbing for them online...

I'm not the one vigorously jerking his own chain on TWW. You want pathetic? It doesn't get much more depressing than that.

This is bullshit. It may not actually be quantifiable, but you haven't posted anything remotely close to proving that. With a large enough sample size, a bayes model could easily get you even 70% of the way to finding someone better than hoping to meet the right person by chance on the street.

And besides, love can't be as mystical or fate-based as you're implying, because there are likely hundreds of thousands of people around the world that you can get along great with. I would bet the qualities that determine a good match are far narrower than people realize, and I would also guess a significant aspect of this is people just "settling." In other cultures where marriages are influenced by things other than attraction, they still have a relatively successful relationship rate. Who you like isn't fixed in stone, it changes, and you can change it.

You are to gradually 'get to know' a person and if you don't think you are a match, then its your own fault if you proceed hoping to change a person. You don't need model for this, and if you do you probably shouldn't be dating in the first place, let alone potentially reproducing.

I wonder if anyone uses these? LOL! I am not sure if this is the one that was on the news about 2 years ago or not, but the guy who tried it had the life goal of watching every episode of Star Trek in order.

Whats wrong with that? Maybe he like Star Trek Could be a really good person but preluded information causes a pre-determined conclusion about him by total strangers.

i've never signed up for/used an online dating service, but i know plenty of people who have

i understand how they could work for someone who is looking for a SO. If they are looking, they are looking for something, so it makes sense that listing qualities about themself and what they'd like in another could match them well with another person who fits that.

They're all interested in sex, which renders them fuckable.

But they're all online which means they're fugly. So if by fuckable you mean attractive by your standards, you're shit out of luck, friend.

I noticed how they make it seem so painless and flawless in the advertisements, then once you sign up, you're strapped for privelages and can't even contact a user unless you drop a grand.

there are some really hot fucking girls on those websites. im sure the same is true for guys.

i've tried a few different sites over the past 5 years or so. month on one, month on another. I can't imagine staying on one of those sites for more than maybe 2 months cuz the turnover is too low.

for example i did match for a month last year and thought about it again, but its 75% the same girls i saw last year.

either way, there were plenty of girls i was interested in after seeing a picture and reading their blurb and my standards are at least decent (judging from what tdubbers find hot). i met some and most were normal people that seemed pretty cool. problem is that many people cant handle the initial awkwardness if they arent used to "meeting internet ppl."

match has the highest quality women in the triangle area imo

the trick is being hot enough to meet them, it's too easy to be shallow and just look at the pics on that site.

hence they don't talk to me.

i did it

went out with like 25 guys. some of them once some of them more than once

overall i would recommend it. i was only into 2 of the people and everyone else provided me with endless entertainment and stories to tell my friends.

it takes a lot of energy and time though. i'm not in town a lot so when i was in town i was pretty aggressive

its not for everyone though, sometimes you have to carry the whole conversation or practice tact in order to get out of the date without jumping off a bridge. others are fine but there is no chemistry

I remember always putting my true age in - I was never a liar about that - but also specifying my target man to be between 45 and 65. It usually narrowed it down quite a bit. And got a lot of fucking weirdos.

the guys i went out with were from my age (25) up to about 34

i went out with all sorts of guys, from lawyers and IT guys to energy traders and engineers

everyone looked like their pic or better except one person. so i just made the whole thing the most uncomfortable 10 min of both of our lives then peaced out. i dont really feel bad for liars.

i was only on there for 2-3 months and i had like 3000 profile views so i guess a lot of people clicked on my picture to view my profile
