so I think I figured out what's crashing it

appears to be the background interwebs noise of script kiddies scanning for open telnet ports and brute forcing any they find, and that's overloading the TCP/IP driver somehow or another

so I may move it to a different port to avoid that

not that anyone appears to actually be using it except me

i was on for a lil' while last night, playing Trade Wars. i was having trouble with the backgrounds, and was too tired to do anything about it. i'll prolly poke at it again today sometime

I am trying to obtain free/native Windows hosting for this, apparently it* is a timing issue w/ MajorBBS and VMware. By "trying" I mean I am waiting for confirmation, so this will probably be back up in a day or two.

Tele-arena has been disabled as it seems to have actually been the module causing a number of issues... it loaded riiight after MajorMUD and so I was fooled for a while*

I am probably going to disable some of the other more irritating login modules at some point as well, lulz

this is fucking sick

several modules caused intermittent crashes on Win2k3 in VMware and Win2k8 native

HOWEVER

and this cracks me up more than I can even begin to tell you

but everything that was crashing on Windows in NTVDM runs just fucking peachy (if a bit slow) in DOSemu

Microsoft can't even emulate their own DOS without fucking it up

3AM cleanup actually ran last night without any crashes, it's pretty stable *now
