Now I know OF quantum physics, but I wouldn't dare say that I understand it.
Likewise, I'm sure that plenty of people know OF pedobear, but don't understand the joke behind it's meaning. Misinformed? Yes. But to them, pedobear would still carry the strong connotation of pedophilia.
Moreso, I'm arguing that some of these misinformed people are parents, police officers, judges, and jurors.

Yeah, it will be real fucking funny when the cop pulls you over and after talking to you puts you name in a report as a possible sex offender. God forbid some kid goes missing and they come looking for you because you thought having a child molester sticker on your car was something to joke about.
