They should invest n a slogan that says "Macs: They just work."

eh they're annoying, but they get the attention of the target audience. Microsoft should focus more on what Apple can't do, rather then making silly commercials that don't seem to make sense. I don't know how this would work, but Microsoft could create a commercial showing how games usually aren't released for OSX, or how most CAD software doesn't run on OSX, or how you can't upgrade the computers, and come up with some nifty phrase explaining how OSX is a closed box OS and you can't simply buy the OS and it on each computer you build. I mean the biggest reasons why i don't run OSX are:1. I game on my PC and don't own a console2. I'm an engineering student and use CAD software that doesn't run on OSX3. I love building computers and updating hardware and Apple doesn't give me this option. Plus I want a hardware product when it comes out, not when a computer company (Apple) decides to put it in their desktops. I mean if i want a new i7 intel chip and a GTX280 i can simply order them, install, and be done with it. Buying an overpriced Mac Pro with outdated hardware that i'm going to have to toss, and buy a whole new desktop with a whole new OS every time i want to upgrade hardware is a waste of time and money. I mean Apples aren't exactly for hardware enthusiasts, i represent a small population of computer users. I'm simply stating why i would never have an Apple as my primary computer. On the other hand i wouldn't mind a new Mac Book, and i own an Ipod Touch 2g which is awesome.

^Mentioning your opponent when you are the overwhelming favorite in a political race is fucking stupid. The favorite has to talk about their strengths. The underdog is the one that gets to talk shit. (And none of those "strengths" you mention in your post are things any sane person would advertise in a mass-marketing campaign.)This entire thread is nerd whining that is completely out of touch with reality. No one gives a shit about this nerd bickering.

^^I don't know. I mean Apple advertises their ipod as the "funnest Ipod yet", and they advertise in the same way for creating videos/music etc. How is this different than Microsoft saying windows is "fun" with games, great with cad/design software, and has the ability to be upgraded? Apple just advertises these things in more of a "hip" way that their target audience can relate to.

He's saying that advertising things like CAD software compatibility and computer buildability won't sell PCs

you also have to figure that people who use professional graphics suites already know which computer is better for them, but that doesn't stop apple from using it to sound hip and awesome.]

I just hate the Mac dude. He looks like a hipster doosh bag wearing skinny jeans.

When i went to the Apple store in Durham to get my ipod, both employees behind the counter were talking about Fallout 3, and i asked them about it and both were using PCs. One with vista and one with XP. Thought that was funny. Not everyone at the Apple store are doosh bags!
