How does it compare to Wall-E

As far as the story goes, it's not as preachy with a big message to get through, I enjoyed the story in this a lot more than in Wall-e. And Up had more common and easier to relate to characters, through out the movie I kept thinking how much Dug is like my dog

They're both beautifully animated though, Pixar has the art and style down.

So I typically don't enjoy 3d movies as they hurt my eyes after a while. I'm really excited about Up and I think we have decided to go see it in 3d. Has anyone seen it in 3d? Does it mess with your eyes after a while?

^^ When it first started I expected it to really bother my eyes, but after about 5-10 minutes it was like watching anything else.

Also, I thought it was excellent.

I can't exactly put my finger on it but I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as I thought I would.

The first 15 minutes or so were quite good, however.

I will say that Pixar got a lot out of something so simple.

Looks like Hollywood is embracing the 3D technology based on the upcoming trailers before the film. Thankfully the glasses have improved on the comfort level.

Took the wife and son to see it in 3-D. Loved it. Had some real tearjerker moments, but I really enjoyed it and thought the 3-D was well done.

if you thought Nemo was that sad, I'm worried that you'll flood the theater when you see Up

Yeah, Nemo doesn't have anything on Up.

I plan on seeing it in 3d this upcoming weekend and I'm going to bring tissues

I'd say Up was the most touching animated movie since The Lion King(Mufasa ) so if you thought Nemo was touching, they're right, you'll be bawling your eyes out.

In my humble opinion...

easily the best animated film ever made. Hell, probably the best film I have seen in a decade.

At one point, I thought I was doing a good job of not tearing up...then I blinked and four rolled down my face.

Goddamn great flick.

Just saw it again in 3d (after seeing it in 2d). It's amazing how after the first 20 minutes or so you don't really notice the 3d, but after seeing it without the 3d, it really enhances the movie.

I saw it again in 3d last night too and agree, the scenes of the house floating and the chases were even better in 3d.

It's crazy how different the colors are though, I want a 3d movie with the colors of watching it in 2d.

damn you tinted glasses!

I, too, was touched. I could barely contain my emotions during the part that showed his life with Ellie, and then her death.

^ I'm surprised I didn't cry... I came awfully damn close though.

^ I cried when he first tried holding his own hand, when Eve watched the surveillance tape, and when they thought he would never get his personality back in the end

oh my god i just got back from seeing it in 3D. i LOVED it. and the 3D was amazing. and at first it made me feel weird but i got used to it after like 3 minutes.

it was sooo good. i almost cried like a thousand times - DEF teared up. i totally cried during wall-e. i would have cried during this if i didn't MAKE myself stop. because i felt like if i started crying i wouldn't be able to stop and then i'd just be sobbing in the movie theatre! i wish i could see it again. movies are expensive now - but the 3D was totally worth it. i guess 3D is like 3 dollars more or something. but so so so well done. god animation and story line were awesome. it was hilarious i laughed so hard i almost cried during some parts.

kevin. i still giggle thinking about him (her). and the dogs!!! the dogs were hilarious. i loved all of it.

oh and i loved the short. hell, i almost teared up at the end of THAT. geez louise

Just saw the 2d version... it was okay, I wouldn't say it was great. I thought it would be cool and different after the first 10 mins, but... eh, I will probably never see it again. I would recommend a rental unless you need to check out the 3d version.

What was the short? I saw the 3d version at crossroads and all I remember was the ice age and toy story 3 promos... I think I even remember wondering "where was the short?"
