b/c it goes away when I'm with the Marines training. When I was deployed I worked a 12-hour shift 6am to 6pm and always was on time for my shift, on top of that I would wake up at 4am to go pt. When I got off work I would just go to dinner and maybe the mwr (internet center) and then go to sleep around 8 or 9 didn't have anything else to do.

Shit dude. Just go active duty.

Nothing like some externally imposed discipline to help you get your shit together.

I think you should do it. It will give you a break from school. You can always pick up where you left off here even if it's part time to finish.

i think active duty is your best option

college doesn't benefit some people; you may be one of those people

I actually wish I hadn't gone to college or had at least waited until later to do it. I didn't get a whole lot out of it, frankly. In the end I got a degree that interested me, but is of little practical value. Had I spent a few years doing something else I think I would have ended up with something both interesting to me and practical by the same age (College ended up taking me 6 calendar years with a 1 year hiatus in the middle).College is definitely not something you should get into without a clear goal in mind, you end up wasting your money, your time, and hurting you credentials coming out because of poor performance.

I like my job, and Im not lazy. The reason cops get bitter is due to years of dealing with dumb people

as funny as it seems, theres no comparison to what cops deal with and T-Dub.myself having long ago spent about a number minor stints in various county jails... i can say that cops have to deal with some seriously fucked-up-stupid people on a regular basis people who make everyone here look like Rhoads Scholars. hell they even make posters on the N&O forums look like geniuses.i came to the conclusion long ago that:while we're never gonna lock up everyone whose guilty, or maybe not lock them up as long as they should be, but there damn sure is a fraction of our population that NEEDS to be locked up at all times. And not the same people, but more like a revolving door that keeps the jails holding at a steady percentage.

As RL said..... there is lots of class workAfter I graduated with a degree in soc ... I went into the academy. For me the class work was easy but the physical part wasnt. For others, they failed out of the class work. Its not as easy as people think...the class work OR the physical tests. You have no room to fuck around and need to study. If you think its easier then college classes and you cant do well in them , you are mistaken to think this is easier. While I was in there, I learned a lot about what or who people really are that want to be cops or become cops. I learned a lot of them are assholes who are power hungry. This was one of the reasons I didnt finish, I went straight to the end and needed to take my state exam and didnt because I didnt want to be like that.

that's a bit of a shame, cops could use a better asshole/non-asshole ratio

You're gay.

All right, you scrawny beanpoles: becoming a cop is not something that happens overnight. It takes one solid weekend of training to get that badge.
