The left hand is where the magic is.

Being a lefty is actually a slight disadvantage if anything

Most teams put their best pass blocker on the left side of the line to protect the right handed QB's blind side

That blocker could move over to the right side to protect the lefty's blind side, but since he probably has more experience at left tackle, he probably won't be as successful, at least initially

you could make the same argument about the pass rush

most teams like to rush and blitz from their right side because that's the qb's blind side

they could flip the playbook to get after a lefty, but since they probably have more experience rushing from their right, they won't be as successful, at least initially

Bottom line is that there is no advantage to being a left QB...unless your goal is to be compared to Steve Young.

^^ touche, but I'd argue that attacking from a different side is easier to adapting to than reacting from a different side

I mean size alone seperates Tebow from others

He is no Ken Dorsey.

Lou Holtz thinks he'll get it.

I can't see anyone but Bradford getting it though.

^^^you and JayBee would be great friends

why don't you look at the flip side

Top 5 Offenses
Big XII - 2
SEC - 0

Top 10 Offenses
Big XII - 5
SEC - 0

Top 20 Offenses
Big XII - 6
SEC - 1

Top 50 Offenses
Big XII - 10
SEC - 3

Offenses Ranked worse than 70
Big XII - 2
SEC - 6

Offenses ranked worse than 100
Big XII - 0
SEC - 5

what comes first, the chicken or the egg? are you sure the SEC doesn't have great defensive stats just because half of the offenses are in the bottom 21? or that the Big XII defenses don't look bad because half of their offenses are in the top 20?

goalielax you are a terrible troll.

Yeah all of those defenses that Tebow faces are good just because the offenses are bad.

Tebow is a better player this year than last year. Last year he HAD to throw and run all on his own to make his team successfull. That got them 3 losses. This year, he's doing better, leading his team better, and has his team 1 loss. IMO the deciding factor is that the BIG XII qb's could have a bad game and go for 200 something yards and a few td's against the defenses they were facing. If tebow had a bad day, Florida would have a hard time winning.

he does have a good point, LSU's offense sucked this year, so every team they played against had a defense that probably put up good numbers on them

the same goes for quite a few of the teams in the SEC

it doesnt really matter either way, and is just a reason to argue, but his point is valid and certainly isnt on a "trolling" level

^^ Great post.

The thing about it is, TEBOW and BRADFORD have a ton of weapons around them.

McCoy has fewer weapons.

I would categorize them like this:

Best passer: Bradford

Best runner: Tebow

Most Accurate: McCoy

Best Leader: Tebow

Most Dangerous: Tebow

terrible troll? that's a legitimate post

did you know that the ACC has more top 25 defenses than the SEC does? OMG DWYER AND WILSON FOR HEISMAN!

but no, I think we all know the ACC has good defensive stats because the offenses aren't that good.

the SEC has 2 really good teams this year - Bama and Florida. Take out the three games the ACC played against them, and the ACC teams averaged 43 yards a game over the SEC team's average yds allowed all year long

They didn't invite but these three......Harrell and Crabtree didn't get invited. Which is a crock if you ask me. One analyst said is was to not embarrass anyone that didn't get many votes.

I was actually leaning towards Bradford until I heard this dude break shit down, Tebow played 10 defenses ranked in the top 50, Bradford and McCoy played 3-4 each

I think Bradford deserved it. Good for him. I also think OU wins the National Championship. You can say OU hasn't faced a defense like UF all year... but it's a verified fucking fact that UF hasn't faced an offense like OU all year either...

I know you are like me with football like I am with baseball. A pitchers duel (low scoring, defensive struggle) is one of the most amazing things to watch...

But I agree... when you see SEC teams struggling with the likes of Big East and ACC teams on offense you have to ask yourself how much of a product the terrible SEC offenses are at the bottom of that conference..

but everyone scored on everyone in the Big 12, there were several defenses that were good outside of when they played Florida.

I didnt even see Jonathan L's post above, I gave the Big 12 too much credit, it wasnt 3-4...

Even though I hate him, there is no doubt in my mind that Tebow is the best offensive player in college football
