From my understanding from even AP history the principles to which our country were founded were pretty liberal

Federal PACs are not technically associated with a candidate or a committee. There are different limitations according to McCain/Feingold so they have to be separate. But it is most definitely associated with Palin.

This is Palin's way of raising additional funds for races she likes across the country.

An individual can give only $2,300 to a candidate per election (primary and general are separate). BUT an individual can give $5,000 to a Federal PAC (like SarahPAC) per year. That PAC can then turn around and give a campaign $5,000 per election (again, primary and general are separate).

So by creating this PAC, she's creating an avenue for an additional $10,000 to get to a campaign over its life. Doesn't seem like a lot (and it's really not on a national or a senate race) but it can mean a lot on a congressional race that doesn't need a lot of cash to function.

Also, while watching the video it was not the slaughtering of turkeys that stood out in my mind...it was the inhumane slaughtering of elephants that really stands out.
