I think the appeal of bringing in his father, possibly the best defensive coach alive, Monte Kiffin was a huge draw for the vols.

I happen to like the selection very much. Defense should not be hard to recruit for this team with Monte coaching these guys to the NFL. They will probably be able to persuade a very good Cali QB to come play for them with Lane's west coast ties. They will recruit skill players very well too.

I see them being very strong in 2 or 3 years

Great maybe UT will be good when they hook up with NC State in 2012. That will be an awesome game.

pro style, 2-3 WR, occasionally 4, TE, RB that has to be able to catch and pass block

hm....i'm interested in seeing how this plays out.

although i generally think pro coaches tend to do well in the college ranks, the oakland raiders seem to be the exception to the rule. bill callahan and mark trestman both come to mind. hopefully for ut, kiffin can break the trend.

kiffin's more a college coach that failed in the pro ranks than the other way around. although it's hard to call doing anything w/ the raiders these days "failing", exactly.

damn, I hope he knows what hes doing, he told Tajh Boyd (highly rated QB who had committed to Tennessee) that he was taking the scholarship offer off the table. I really hope he has someone lined up...

yeah, told him he wouldnt be a good fit for the team... and you know how bad our QBs were this year, Danny DeVito is a good fit compared to them
