I hate those guys. Whenever I give someone my name, in an official context, they're all like "with a V or a PH?" And I'm like "v", but I'm thinking "Did I SAY SteFen? No, I clearly pronounced the V sound, pay more attention. Do I look some pretentious fuck who thinks he's too good for normal letter sounds and has to combine two to make the same sound?"

Anyway, in things related to the thread... I don't think I've ever dated a girl with a unisex name, actually... I've actually gone out with three different "Ashley"s before, but never a girl with a boy's name.

My friend Jessy is married to a Jessica and when they were still dating my brother, his roomate, dated a girl named Jessie.

They quickly became J, Jessica, and Girl Jessie.

I also once knew a female Alex (real name) who was hot as fuckall.

I was trying to figure out why you had to add the "real name" but i guess you mean her full name was not Alexandra or something.

I am not a huge fan of unisex names. I can't decide if they are better or worse than first names as last names.

My name is Allan Scott Paul.

I would have definitely preferred a unisex first name over my three first/last names.

I've been called Paul so many times that it hurts.

Three first names is pretty darn rough. They could have at least picked a crazy unique middle name or something.

I've thought about going by my middle name too. Mostly just for shits and giggles. Well, and everyone pronounces my first name wrong.

I dated an guy named Ashley for almost 5 years. When we got started the name thing was in issue mentally/socially but after a while it just faded. Although we had the same name, his somewhat felt different (hard to explain). I guess its just where you begin to associate people with who they really are and the name is just a side issue.

However for many we became Ashley Boy and Ashley Girl. Although we haven't been together for a very long time, we both still get called by that. It always surprises me when someone pops up with the "Ashley Girl" comment.

Oh and plus I'm stuck with it as a username now.

well JS is not J * S

JS is it's own unit of sorts.
