Yes, please stop asking me to make decisions on how much ass I can pull with this car. Certainly not my intention

And thank you...female...not looking to pick up "hos"

But hey, if any of you need a car to get that done, I'll loan it out for the right price

E92 looks retarded unless it has the right wheels, and it also needs some minor exterior mods (rear lower valance blacked out, CF or body color splitters for front bumper, etc) for it to look good. The 90 can look good with the correct wheels, the lip spoiler on the trunk, and some Blackline taillights. Imo it takes less for the E90 to look good than the E92.

The E93........there is no helping. That is an ugly sumbitch. And we won't talk about the 2009 E90 (facelift)......holy McNasty ugly.

change cd?: CD's what are those? iPod/Mp3 player or sat.
eat a hotdog: You shouldn't eat in a new BMW!
make up: I'm pretty sure the guys will be checking out the car first

Ok so I'm probably going to buying a car this weekend so I need some more help.

Originally I was die hard about the 335 and now I'm wondering if it's worth it. It's topping out right at my budget. I love the idea of the extra HP but being realistic

1. I don't race
2. I'm not a huge huge car enthusiast
3. Mostly do city driving
4. I'm a chick....is it too much car for me (insert chicks can't drive posts here)
5. I can't find a 335 manual ANYWHERE and part of me refuses to buy that car as an automatic

I'm just wondering if I should stop being such a snot and be ok with going with the 328 given it's pretty much the same car except for more HP and tourque

That's almost exactly why I went with a G35s last year instead of buying a BMW (aside from the being a chick part). For some reason, finding a new, manual, BMW is damned near impossible, and I got a hell of a loaded car for the same price as a bare bones BMW, plust more HP.

328 is still very nice, but if you're stuck on the performance part you really should look at Infinitis. When I went shopping last year I looked at Audi, BMW, Merc, Lexus, and Infiniti and landed on the Infiniti. If you're dead set on the badge then you'll probably have to settle for a 328 (if you can even find one of those in a manual).

Realistically you will be driving the 335 like a 328 probably 80-90% of the time and will never actually need that extra HP or torque.

If you don't have $$ coming out your ass (and if you do, I would like to meet you), just buy the 328.

^^by your logic everyone should just drive under powered cars because you really won't be needing the extra power anyway.

I say go with the 335i hands down. After owning an STi and now an Evo there is no way I'd ever buy another car with less power. Its just fun to drive

I would hold out until you get a 335 manual as well. When it comes to new cars I'm always very patient and I wait forever until I get the exact car I want. Dealerships never like that because they just always try to push what they have but I refuse to budge on anything.

http://www.motivemag.com/pub/feature/versus/Motive_Versus_BMW_335i_Sedan_vs_Infiniti_G37S_Sedan.shtml

The G37S is faster, bigger, and much much cheaper.

The 335i is still one of the best cars out there. The G series use to win on price, but now its so close performance wise, BMW needs to rethink their pricing.

$99 chip (JB1) on 335i will put aeroplane lengths on any g3x infiniti. Jb3 will be another class.
3-series is priced very well for what it is. these are $80k cars in europe.

^^i haven't seen any G37s faster to 60 than the BMW at 4.9, but I've seen low fives.

You've already waited a month, if you want a 335i manual either keep looking or order one from the dealership!

^^Congratulations, you just voided your new, $45k car's warranty!

Per that article it was 5.0 for the Infiniti and 5.4 for the bimmer.

although you cant find a new one, ask them to let you drive a used 335i or even a new 135i. i almost drove a 135i before they found what was to be my new car hiding in the back corner of the lot.

if you decide that you like it, they can search every bmw dealer in the nation and get the right car for you.

Winner!

And the 328 isn't thattttt under powered (for a DD), but if your not rich and have no intentions of racing it and she isn't power hungry....why waste the extra $$ just to get 328 + 7 = 335, besides the badge effect?

^Yeah I am arguing that point, the 328 is not really underpowered....according to her list the 328 would be fine over an 335

By your logic everyone should buy things they cant really afford.

Eh, the 335 is head and shoulders above a 328. I look at it this way, I wouldn't buy a 328, I'd rather have some other car, maybe a G37?

I did look at a profitability chart, and I seem to recall that they made a higher % of profit from a 328 than they did from a 335, which actually costs a significant sum more to produce than a 328, guess it's the turbos, extra cooling, beefier brakes, etc. The 335 also comes with things that are optional on the lower cars, such as the sports package I believe.

I can follow that logic. But it seems for all intents and purposes, she will be better off getting the 328 like I said earlier. I wouldn't get one, but still seems like the best bet.

Yeah but what about that 2 times a year she needs to pass someone on a dotted yellow on 64S and only has a 1/4 mile to do it. The 240HP 328I will NEVER be able to pull it off.

If Quinn can actually pass people in his 70hp civic, and I can actually pass people with my 135hp camry.........I think the 240hp 328 is more than adequate for a DD that can still pass people.

Which is less than an accord or a g37. I'm not saying it is or isn't enough, just that if I were interested in an e9x Bmw it'd be the 335i, otherwise just get something else. Btw, OBVIOUSLY buying anew Bmw is not about what one needs...

not to mention that prices of used 328 and 335 are within $1-3k. just another reason to pick up a nice, used '07 335i certified pre-owned with 100k warranty for $28-32k.

i'd imagine it's probably due more to lower volumes on that model so all of the suppliers are going to change more simply because of that. sure the extra material costs too..but low volumes = $$texas

I've owned about half a dozen 3 series with over 180k miles.

In short, they don't last, everything will be broken by 50k miles./sarcasm. They're pretty tough as far as basics go, but there's lots of little stuff to break on a not so well cared for example.

On the plus side, you get to become a crazy BMW owner and all of those things will just add character to you or you will enjoy fixing them. Its a truly bizarre fraternity.

After driving a 2-door for 5 years and a sedan for the last 5 months; as far as my daily driver is concerned I am not sure if i'd ever go back to a coupe. The practicality is nice.

Hopefully this chick got a manual versus being another lazy american with their automatic so that they can stuff their face with a hotdog, drink a latte, talk on the cellphone, and change a CD all while driving in rush hour traffic.

the worst thing about an automatic isn't even gear selection issues...it's the torque converter.

but in a FWD cruiser, none of it makes any difference anyway.

Isn't part of coming in here to get input and then decide if it's a good choice? Trust me, I would have loved for the 335 to work out but the fact is that I wanted to lease and I couldn't afford the 335 that I wanted at $750 a month...just wasn't what I wanted to spend. If I could have gotten them to negotiate like lexus did, I would have gotten the 335 hands down.

P.S. ya'll take this sh*t way too seriously if you are honestly irritated at the car I purchased...
