^hell yes. those cars were so ugly they're cool. my brother and sister both got a 4 door slant 6 dart as their first car for christmas. it was just a standard granny car with tan paint, white vinyl roof, hubcaps, etc. when my sister got it. then, two christmases later, my dad had it painted red and put some hole shot keystones on it when they gave it to my brother, lol.

my personals would have to be a 70-74 E body mopar (challenger/cuda) with a 408 magnum (stroked/bored 360 94-97 truck engine) and a simple single turbo. backed with a 5/6 speed manual and fully updated suspension/chassis/wheels/tires in the pro touring style. some modern updates and conveniences to the interior also, but nothing wild or completely ruining the classic style/look.

the other would be a mid-late 60's C body convertible mopar (300/imperial/newport/new yorker/etc.) with a 4bt or maybe 6bt 12v cummins. it would have to be a highly optioned car with a/c, leather, power windows, etc. keep the tf727 and throw a gear vendor od behind it, or possibly swap to a a518 or 47rh. keep it mostly stock otherwise, except for maybe some 20-22" wheels. it would need some helper airbags in the rear, electric brake controller, and a receiver hitch too though. in addition to cruising, it would also serve as the E body's tow rig as needed.

Why not a big block in the E-body?

I think I'm going to put an a518 in my Charger. I just hope I don't have to cut up my floorpans too much.

mainly because it's been done 800 million times already. doing an E body at all is cliche enough for me. plus fuel injection is a lot simpler/cheaper with a magnum based motor also, not the mention the cost difference of performance parts between small/big blocks. also, i'm more a fan of the early B series engines and a couple of the older RB's like the 413 and 426 (wedge, not hemi). i love all the old firepower stuff too. i like the more popular RB's just fine, i just don't like any of them well enough i'd want to do a performance build and swap of one. except an original 426 hemi of course, but it's unlikely i'll ever be able to drop that kind of cash on just an engine alone.

you shouldn't have to cut your floor up at all. a 518 is just a 727 with overdrive, they fit anywhere a 727 will as far as i know.

I've thought a lot about putting a 3G Hemi in my Charger, but I already have a 77 New Yorker that is going to donate its 440. I thought about using the 727 from it too, but having OD would be so much better than riding around with the engine screaming on the highway.

If I didn't already have the New Yorker, you can bet a 3G Hemi would be under the hood of the Charger.
