I was on AOL back when I had windows 3.1 after that I had my own line for dial-up via AT&T while my rents stayed on aol.

it was good harmless fun back then

with AOL's shitty CC verification, you could get free accounts without actually fucking over someone by using their actual credit card...it would just generate a fake card number, you'd get an account and download warez for a couple weeks until AOL's billing system was informed the credit card wasnt real
