Grad school sucks monkey balls, at least the thesis options.

It's more about department politics if you graduate or not than what you can do.

If you're considering graduate school it should be relevant/important to your career plans. If you want to do R&D or teach, go for it. If you don't care and just want to get a job it's not worth it.
