I generally go 2.50 - 3$ on the standard 1 pizza delivery.

I would go higher but the fucking delivery charges piss me off.

Why have a delivery charge AND expect a tip?

My dad was blacklisted from a Domino's for a lackluster tip when he didn't realize there was also a delivery fee. There was also shouting and fighting which led to free pizza and breadsticks, but that branch won't deliver to us anymore.

if delivery guy drives 3 miles with your food that was 12 bucks...i think that's worth a couple bucks. cos' you can still whack it while yer waiting on the foot/food and you dont have to put on any clothes cos' you know dem shawties who work at that one pizza place are hot.

My uncle tips 50-100%. He also waited tables at some point in his life and now works for Agilent in Palo Alto.

i do admit, I have considered masturbating and delayed the experience to order a pizza first.

because to a dirty pothead, what's better than jerking it and eating cheesy bread afterwards (no homo?)

don't delivery charges not go to the driver?

that is probably why you should still tip

to clarify, I tip at all times, even with delivery charges.

However, I only have about 4-5$ allocated to "aftermarket pizza charges". If the delivery charge cuts into that, well, the remainder is the tip.

We can't all have rich uncles.

Some of us have to buy our own dimebags.

when I worked at PJs there was no delivery charge, and drivers got 0.70 per run

then they added the delivery charge and increased it to like 0.90 per run

I think they increased it the tiniest bit more when gas went way up, but basically the driver sees like a shiny new quarter more with the delivery charge than they did before the delivery charge

He doesn't pay for my pizza. Although the thought of having a pizza delivered from northern Cali is awesome.

^^ yea after reading some about it (thanks google) i saw that PJs seems to give some of the delivery charge to drivers. but i don't think all places do that. i think sometimes it just goes straight to the co.

i don't really care it usually isn't more than $1. so either a) i'd go pick it up if it really bothered me or b) i still tip approx 15% for deliveries because those people are just trying to make a buck. and if i order delivery i am anticipating paying a tip anyway. the extra dollar isn't really going to hurt me. i'd rather not take away from the driver's tip. i mean, i'm the one being lazy and getting it delivered.

coming from someone who used to deliver

if i got $3 dollar tip, i'd be extremely pleased.

if i got $2 dollar tip, i'd still be pleased, unless it was a long long drive.

if the place doesn't have a "delivery fee" - $4-6
if it does - $0-2

variation depends on speed and size of order.
I'm sorry that most drivers don't actually see the "delivery fee", but they need to talk to their managers about the store stealing their tips/

depending on the size of the order, if I got a drink or not, how long it it took (my house is a little hard to find), etc

$3-6 for delivery

$1-3 for take-out

So, since delivery fees for pizza places are $1 (or at the most $2, although I've never seen that...,) and since you know the delivery fee doesn't go to the driver, then why don't you tip like this:
Quote :
"if the place doesn't have a "delivery fee" - $4-6
if it does - $3-5"
or even this:
Quote :
"if the place doesn't have a "delivery fee" - $4-6
if it does - $2-4"
???
Is it because you're an asshole?...an asshole that wants to punish hard-working individuals that are performing somewhat risky work, for something that their boss or company does, that they have no control over?

Enjoy your dick pizza, you cheap fucking asshole.

pizza tip is generally just a couple bucks if its just a pizza or two. 3 or more pizzas i tend to tip 5 bucks.

restaurants im 15% if the waiter did their job, 20% if the waiter went above and beyond (without being pesky/annoying), less than 15% at my discretion if they were subpar.

what is bullshit is that Ruby Tuesday automatically charges gratuity for the To Go pickup orders

i mean wtf, i tip them 1-2 dollars anyway for walking out to the car, but last time i didn't know it was an auto-tip situation and they got 1.75 + the 2.00 I gave

i know it's my own fault but thats some crap

dweedle its because the to go person rarely actually gets tipped even though they do a lot and can have as much or more business than any given server on the floor

and unless the service was subpar i tip well

i generally do 30-40%, but i've done up to 120% for excellent service

however recently i've had to cut back to 20-30%
