Is it really played out to love the coda to "Layla"

Cause, uh, that's about as good as pop music gets in my opinion

Nice to see someone mention that band. I like them a good bit. Not the best post-rock out there, but it is certainly pretty rad.

"Blew Away" - Smashing Pumpkins
Near the end of the song, during the guitar bridge before the last verse ("I want to let her know / that I won't let her go ...") the two triplets are absolutely perfectly placed, paced, and played. Absolutely love those three seconds.

All of my responses for this thread would probably be from The Smashing Pumpkins, so I'll try to think of others, but first ... The dynamics in Porcelina of the Vast Oceans (specifically the intro to chorus), the same for Soma, the build up from the bridge in Geek U.S.A. to the solo, the strange nostalgic feeling that the intro outro to 1979 induces. The opening line to Muzzle. Today blahblahblahllahblalblahlbllahlblalhlblalhlblalhlbah. I could go on forever.

Quote :
"In Red Animal War's "when fat pigs fly" the bridge in that song that starts with the lyrics 'when fat pigs fly...' absolutely makes that song. Never was sure what it was but the mood of that little section its absolutely freaking perfect for its spot in the song and I think that every time I hear the song still to this day."

I was in a band in high school and we played a show with RAW. True story. Damn good band. We were terrible, though, lol. And I agree with your sentiment.

the guitar solo 3:00+ minutes into Built to Spill's "Life's a Dream"

the final chorus of Camper Van Beethoven's cover of Fleetwood Mac's "I Know I'm Not Wrong"

the last verse in The Clash's "Death or Glory"

at 2:25 into the Futurehead's cover of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love" when all the music drops out for a beat

last verse of Madvillain's "Strange Ways" (until that stupid cartoon shit)

the wailing of an unsuccessful suicide attempt in "The Glow pt 2" by The Microphones

the last minute of the National's "Mr. November"

from the last verse until Stephen Malkmus utters "summer babe" in "Summer Babe (Winter Version)" by Pavement

the drums rolls and female harmony vocals at the end of Pink Floyd's "The Happiest Days of Our Lives"

all of Radiohead's "Motion Picture Soundtrack" until it stops being a traditional song

when Randy Newman details how "the North has set the niggers free" in "Rednecks"

the glorious and steady ascension of Regina Spektor's voice and piano a little over 2 minutes into "Human Of The Year"

the second half of "Empty Cans" by the Streets and the entirety of "Pale Green Things" by the Mountain goats specifically within the context of the album in which those songs were released

segueing from the final chorus to the final verse of The Strokes' "Hard to Explain"

live recording of Sam Cooke's "Bring it Home," after his final demand that the crowd return his "Yeah!"'s

Doug Stanhope telling the story of Bobbie Barnett

Patrice Oneal's every captured word

The Who's "Baba O'Riley" (whole fucking thing (but especially Pete Townshend's singing part)
