Exactly, the rest of the acting was horrible. I don't know how half of those actors were even considered for an Eastwood movie.

They weren't really "actors" persay. They held an open call for a bunch of Hmong youth in Minnesota and Wisconsin and picked from their limited selection pool. My sister-in-law auditioned.

I liked the movie. It was nice not reading any spoilers about it, but now that I know what happens I wouldn't watch it again.

Great performance by Eastwood...good movie.

The only gripes I have is the rest of the acting, and the ending was a bit cheesy.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, ending with a funeral, reading the will, and a ride into the sunset in a cool car....does it get more cliche than that?

***More spoiler****

After being shot up and falling into the position of Jesus on the cross was a bit more than I could take on the cheeze-o-meter ... not to mention it was done in Cool Hand Luke quite a long time ago.

yeah

this movie was a lot more paint-by-numbers than i ever expected

i texted one of my friends "so far Gran Torino is garden state for old racists"

i really enjoyed the movie, but not in any real artistic sense

i didn't mind the other acting too much, even though some of you people had me expecting middle school drama club acting...

but the worst

WORST

part of the movie:

clint's song at the end

oh my gosh

listen to that song
then listen to cookie monster

and you will never, EVER, look at clint eastwood the same again

Cookie Monster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhUFxaauNTE

i'm actually looking for a slower, more somber cookie monster song i remember
but i can't find it on youtube...
