its only been 2 episodes, and the first one had basically everyone (except the todd), the second was pretty much just JD and Turk sitting in a room with a patient the whole episode, so not much room for other characters. i enjoyed the new ones a lot,

yeah, the first episode had almost everyone in it besides the Todd. And i'm sure he'll be back.

as for the janitor, of course he'll be back.

and regarding the post about JD and Elliot rekindling their romance...Bill Lawerance has said that he never intended JD and Elliot ending up together at the end of the show, but it's what the viewers have always wanted/expected. So he compromised. I'm interested to see how that'll shape up.

i also really liked the scene at the very end of the first episode where they echo what Bill Lawrence said about getting back to what they did the first couple seasons

well i thought it was good because most people probably didn't know that the creator had made those comments and thats what they wanted to do

(i also just like those types of scenes, such as the first episode of family guy when it came back when they mentioned all the others shows that would have to, and did, get cancelled, for them to come back, and the beginning of the first futurama movie where they talk shit about the fox execs)

I just want to point out the fact that Scrubs is NOT, I repeat, NOT a Comedy. It is a Drama with comedic elements. NBC was the group behind trying to push them into being a full fledged comedy. When I hear stuff like NBC tried to make it so that patients didn't die "they just get really sick", it disgusts me. The show was crushed under their influence, and the influence shows strong (especially in the later seasons).

The show is finally heading back to what was set into motion in the first couple of seasons. JD is quirky, but not a full-fledged idiot. Cox actually respects JD and continues a mentor type roll even though he continually plays the tough guy. Carla is mother-hen (or lioness, if you will). The Turk-JD comradeship is back. ETC...

Good riddance, NBC.

The "JD put your shirt back on" line had me and my roommates rolling for a good 3 mins...we had to pause the show.

I'm really liking what they're doing with the series. It looks like they're letting Lawrence take the show back from what NBC had made it. Very reminiscent of Seasons 2-4 with a great mixture of drama and comedy.

I think at heart Scrubs was and always will be a comedy, but what drew people in was always the semi-serious nature of the show (they do, after all, work in a hospital).

As a side note I give alot of respect for Lawrence and the other writers for throwing in alot of flashback humor for the long time watchers of the show. Off the top of my head is where JD and Elliott mention the sex budddies thing and they play that little triumphant chord of music that always played during that little story arcwhen JD thought of "sex buddies"

I really like the new season so far. I always liked that it had that dramatic element mixed in with the funny stuff (except for the last couple seasons) so I'm glad it's back to that.

Cool that JD and Elliot are back together. I always thought it would be cool if he got back with his baby's mama. Elizabeth Banks is super hot.

Is it totally official that this is the last season of Scrubs?

I'm really digging these new episodes. I think they're hilarious. Especially Denise, lol. (not to mention she's hot).

And speaking of hot, am I wrong or is Sarah Chalke getting HOTTER and HOTTER!?!?

I don't know if Sarah Chalke lost weight, but it seemed to me that she's grown about a foot. I dunno, I'm an idiot. Either way, I agree with ^

So the first episode tonight appears to have been the actual season premiere. Guess they moved it because they wanted the premiere to feature Courtney Cox? Lame...thats some NBC bullshit. Second episode picked up where last weeks ended.

^I thought the same thing. It definitely felt out of sequence. I wasn't bad, but if you paid any attention you could tell.

But then again i'm not sure, b/c they made the comment about how that one suck-up intern had chilled out recently. And that happened in the episode Carla lectured her in two weeks ago.

didn't turk also mention in the last episode two weeks ago that it was going to be the first time since they were married that they wouldn't be together for a while?

Probably some late reediting of the episodes to make it seem to fit as best they could. I do recall the "Thats new" joke with the ABC bug in the first episode...wouldnt have been as funny without it being in the first episode. Most of this one they didnt seem to know their interns yet. In the premiere, Denise was already being called Joe, but this episode seemed to be the birth of that nickname.

In the premiere, they introduced the new interns at the very beginning of the episode. It all seems to fit correctly to me.

I think Denise is my favorite new character, she's fucking smoking, and hilarious.

Denise: Why are you calling me Jo?
JD: Its your new nickname, do you like it?
Denise: No, it sounds too butch, and I like to bang dudes. Eh Eh!

(perhaps a paraphrase, but still hilarious)

lolz
