This is a man who knows his whiskey.

I say that if you bring a lot of liquor or expensive liquor to a party and there's some left then you should be fine taking it home. If you brought traveler's club or beer or wine then you should leave it. My reasoning is that when I've shown up with 12 bottles of various good liquors that wouldn't have been there otherwise, that makes up for any rudeness in taking my own leftovers. I've been able to get plenty of my friends to try stuff they wouldn't have because I brought my stock with me. There's that and I'm not giving $200 of my private bar away nor a $60 bottle of scotch.

When I do that though I usually buy some beer or wine that I intend to leave regardless.

^ holy shit, youre a snob.

if you need to bring a bottle you can do it without being a chump. just bring a single bottle of Maker's Mark or Glenlivet and leave it when your done.

save trotting out "Charbydisjim's Private Reserve" for your own fuckin party. it aint your birthday. nobody wants to see that shit.

I bring my liquor in a Nalgene bottle and drink it all before the night is through. It's fun to measure your drinking in milliliters.

Man law states that if you bring alcohol into someone's place and your hand leaves the bottle, that alcohol then becomes theirs.

Also, that's really uncouth and crass.
