Tugboat/Typhoon wasn't the best, but Earthquake/Shark was a solid big man and a great heel.

Earthquake was better than most big men, such as Yokozuna or Mabel.

how you gonna hate on arrogance? especially when it's distributed through a pesticide sprayer in to jake roberts eyes, leading to one of the worst wrestlemania matches ever.

That reminds me: is there anything on Wrestlemania VII worth watching? The only thing I can think of is the interview with Chuck Norris and Henry Winkler.

If you're into lamish matches that are "historically significant" (as far as it can be in pro wrestling) then Undertaker vs. Snuka kicks off Undertaker's 16-0 Wrestlemania streak.

So that's something.

Also, if you'd like to see big men who actually sell their opponents moves on occasion then the British Bulldog v. Warlord match might be up your alley.

Although iirc it takes a while to get the Warlord to start selling.

Ultimate Warrior v. Randy Savage was sorta a 3* match. But that was towards the end of Savage's ability to carry his opponent.

[Edited on January 5, 2009 at 10:06 PM. Reason : Also, Ventura and Heenan playing off each other was probably worth a few laughs]

Oh, christ. I judge worst wrestlers as people who do not sell moves, and cannot get the crowd interested in them.
In recent memory: Umaga and Snitsky are the worst offenders of not actually working WITH their opponents. Personally, I don't think John Cena does enough to put anyone else over, but he's in a position where he doesn't have to. And poor RVD, who I loved so much once, but who lost a step once the drugs caught up to him too much. Or Sabu, same problem.
Further back, it seems WCW started specifically recruiting these people. Hugh Morris? Disco Inferno? Glacier tops the list as the King Of All Suck, because they just kept throwing him in our faces for THREE YEARS. Ugh.

I wonder how many finishing moves were sacrificed, total, in order to get the UW over.

Hell, even Hogan's "Lou Thesz's Grandmother could do a better" legdrop bit the dust.

Better list than I could come up with. Be sure to watch the Shockmaster video (no longer hosted, so go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvgHCtjXbAI).

Edit. Missed this on page one:

^WHAT? Isaac Yankem = Kane. Think you should take him off the list.

Take him off, replace him with another big guy...like Adam Bomb, haha

but all Issac Yankem was there for was to job to Bret Hart in order to further the (rather shitty) feud with Hart and Lawler.

Regal is awesome, although I don't remember liking his character all that much when I was younger (and I don't mean in the normal heel heat kind of way)...I'm sure there was less comedy then.

BTW, I loved the Quebecers from a comedy standpoint. The Canadian government wouldn't let Jacques Rougeau use the name or image of RCMP in Canada, so when he came back from time off he took every opportunity to point out that he was no longer doing so. Bonus points for being managed by Johnny Polo (Raven).

Can anybody recommend the best torrent sites for 90s wrestling video? I just saw on Xtremewrestling they have like every Nitro from 95-end

I really want to watch some documentary type-stuff, and not bullshit ones that gloss over everything. First on my list to watch was the The Rise and Fall of ECW... what else can I watch?

I like older wrestling clips for nostalgia as much as the next guy, but not THAT much

There's some stuff on youtube

Beyond the Mat (awesome but dated), Monday Night Wars (some interesting behind the scenes stuff, they miss a lot though), and lots of random WWE documentaries

I recently went through this phase myself

1-2-3 Kid

hated him and never got hooked on DX or w/e they turned into

King Mabel, I think his name was, was atrocious...I remember he got carried out on his thingy and was pinned within 5 seconds by Diesel....got my vote from then on

Razor Ramone was the shit though...Razor's Edge was my fav move...we'd perform that shit on each other in the pool....Brett the Hitman Hart's figure 4 leg lock underwater was a sight to see as well.

Just finished watching this... and it's pretty awesome, even with the obligatory trashing of WCW. I guess it was even more awesome to me because when I was following wrestling, I never really got a chance to see a lot of video -- I really only had a general knowledge of who they had and their major angles. Honestly, the only match I really remembered seeing most of was the Tazz/Bam Bam Bigelow where they went through the mat.

Also, Tommy Dreamer gets mad respect for being so loyal to the company.

I watched this yesterday.... awesome as hell. My favorite part was probably where Bret's wife is talking to HHH like he's 5 outside the locker room in Montreal.

I remember feeling bad for Hart whenever this all happened but I guess I never realized the beating his character took before he got screwed. And that Vince had pretty much screwed him over before Montreal even happened... I don't really remember much of him in WCW, did he ever really win back the majority of American fans?

Golddust's finisher was the Curtain Call.

Brett Hart used the Sharpshooter, not the Figure Four.

To be fair, one of Bret's semi-regular spots in long matches was a figure four on the ring post, but that doesn't change the amount of fail in the post you're referring to.

Also ^,

" As Goldust
- Final Cut (Vertical suplex dropped into a snap swinging neckbreaker) - 2008-Present
- Curtain Call (Lifting falling reverse DDT, scoop lift dropped into a hangman's neckbreaker - 2002-2003 or a suplex slam - 1998-1999)
- Director's Cut / Shock Treatment (Snap scoop powerslam pin) - 2002-2003
- Golden Globes / Shattered Dreams (Running low blow kick to a cornered opponent)"

Yah, Shattered Dreams / Golden Globes is more of a signature move.

Not what he'd use to score a 3 count and win a title.

Bob Backlund was a credible champion in an age where gimmicks didn't reign. There are plenty of champions worse than Backlund.
