as much as i hate tOSU, they really coulda won if they had kept healthy. Wells was playing like a fiend for quite a bit. neutered their offense when he went out.

"because they were playing good defenses. Ole Miss wasnt a great offense by any means during the year, and they tore up a top Big 12 team"

you're fucking retarded

Ole Miss has the 29th ranked offense in the country (total offense) at the end of the year (407 YPG)

given that they got 515 vs TT, that means they averaged 398 yards of offense in the other 12 games

in other words, without the TT game, they were still a top 40 offense

yeah, not good at all

you are a total dipshit

i'm saying SOME of the SEC teams had good offenses

but a near MAJORITY of them were AWFUL

do you make the SEC drink pineapple juice before you blow them?

I mean, the SEC bowl teams have been scoring a lot of points for the most part, LSU (who you called one of the worse SEC offenses on numerous occasions) completely tore up a very good GT defense at home in a bowl game.

hah! i knew you'd try to bring that shit up

that game was more of a failure of GT's special teams and offense than it was defense

after all GT held LSU to 50 yards LESS than their season's average in the ESS EEE SEE

sorry, i actually respond when i have a fully formed answer that can be backed by FACTS

not a homer at all, I am sorry that the SEC is the best football conference over the last 20+ years but there is just no debating it, same thing with the ACC in bball.

some objective thoughts I have put on here:

Tennessee sucks ass this year
The SEC isnt the best bball conference
Cowboys have played horrible
Crompton is the worst QB ever
Philip Rivers was the best college QB I had ever seen
Tim Tebow (who I hate) might have passed him

for some convoluted reason these wont count right?

Matt Lienert
Payton Manning
Tommie Frazier
Charlie Ward
Ty Detmer
Danny Wuerfel

but then when you go back and look at people i actually never saw, but can just read about...

Davey O'Brien
Sammy Baugh
Roger Staubach
Doug Flutie

like i said, you should watch a little more college football... PRiv was in fact a great college QB and should be playing the Pro Bowl this year over Cutler...but he was not the best ever by any means...and i will continue to rock my powder blue PRiv jersey

Tommy Frazier? You aren't equating wins with qb greatness are you?

Sorry, just don't really think of putting option qbs on the same level as qbs who, you know, throw it

I dont believe a QB should be punished for the system he played in...

i had him up there as being the best option QB

and Wins should be a good stat, i mean 2 championships in 3 years....

Jaybee1200 never said Rivers was the best ever.

and Rivers was a better college QB than everyone on this list:

Matt Leinart
Peyton Manning
Tommie Frazier
Charlie Ward
Ty Detmer
Danny Wuerffel

...except maybe Peyton Manning

Did this guy seriously say Tommie Frazier, Matt Leinart, and Charlie Ward were better college QBs than PR?

LOL Phil is easily the best QB the ACC has ever seen....probably the best college in recent memory.

[Edited on January 7, 2009 at 1:26 PM. Reason : Peyton was damn good, just because they didn't win it all with him don't be fooled.]

^^I know right. Other QBs were much better at running the football, playing defense, & kicking, hence why their teams were able to play for titles

if we are judging qb greatness by wins, then dorsey should be in the conversation. you really think he was one of the greatest college qbs ever?

Matt Leinhart? seriously? Talk about a product of the best offensive line in the nation, a bunch of frisbee catching dog receivers, and the best rushing 1-2 punch in college football since Brown/Cadillac

If we are revoking Heismans, I would revoke the following:
Tebow's
Jason White
Eric Crouch
Matt Leinart

Adrian Peterson should have been the first underclassman to win the Heisman.

oh my fault, i was unaware of the fact that i had to PHYSICALLY see them play to judge them....so then i guess PRiv would be the best qb that i have PHYSICALLY seen

you have yet to prove that you know much about college football in this thread...the only thing you have proven is you only watch nc state football in person and you're a homer.

If you cant say that Peyton is a better college qb you are a homer. Woodsen stole his heisman.

Tommie Frazier...3 trips to national title, 2 wins...numorous qb awards...one if not the best option qb's, 16 rushes, 199 yards in the national title, 3 tds i think...

Just like Jason White stole Rivers Heisman.

If Rivers played for USC, Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, he would have almost been a unanimous Heisman.

Don't hate because Jeff Blake isn't mentioned as a top QB.

i havent mentioned Jason White, and i also believe he didnt deserve the Heisman....

ill assume the reason being Big 12 vs ACC opponents....big difference...but correct me if im wrong, but wasnt that the same year you guys played at Ohio State?

hahahaha
hahahaha

dont know where to start... first off, I dont just watch NC State games in person, hell, not even counting State games I have gone to I bet I have seen more college football games than just about anyone on here... second, I am not a homer, and if I was, it wouldnt be a State homer. Third, I agree with Woodson being a sham Heisman winner 100%. Looking at the voting for EVERY year before and since then, it made no sense. Fourth, of course I was talking about seeing in person, with things like the internet, ESPN, ESPN Classic, DVDs, etc. you can watch pretty much any player of any time period, so I meant the best that I had actually watched play in a stadium.

Yeah, we can revoke the heisman this year and give it to Tebow

As long as we revoke last year's heisman and give it to someone else.

Florida's defense and Percy Harvin won that game for them. Tebow's timely FB leads only barely made up for the two terrible picks he threw in the first half. If Oklahoma had played anywhere close to what they're capable of, Tebow would be the goat today.
