edit post at our christmas dinner the GM made a speech on how the economy was bad and that we were gonna try to get through it, etc etc etc

right after he said that a coworker told me that pretty much meant not to expect a raise or bonus

"

i can picture someone feeling they need to explain that to you, you need a personal captain obvious to follow you around

no shit, we get 2-5% of our base pay cash + 4-8% company stock, profit sharing sucked this year though

[Edited on January 9, 2009 at 10:49 PM. Reason : still netted about $3k]

Subject: Job Description of Engineernig in 2009

Engineering Team,

This is the role of the Job Description of Engineering in 2009

Our key word is Technology.

In this 2009 market situation, it is necessary to come back to the starting point that the role of our engineering is a link of our technologies and customer's technologies.

The engineering team will work as follows.
blah blah blah blah blah

I would like to have individual interview next week.

Please prepare the answer about followings individually.

(1) What do you need to do in order to have deep understandings of our or customer’s technologies?

(2) What specific aspects of our technology are you interested in now? (What technology do you want to understand?)

(3) How do you view you serving a pivotal role in your job?

Thanks,

xxxxxxxx

We had meetings today

1. they're not letting anyone go (yet) unless things get worse

2. no raises

3. our employee incentive plan is getting canceled.

i get to keep my job for another 3 months it would seem.
