The problem is that the game sucks most of the time.

You know how painful it is to watch big 10 basketball? Multiply that by 100 and you have soccer.

if it was cantona, he'd spike lewis in the thigh before he hit him

similarly, bobby clarke would break lewis' ankle before the hit came

so is the best sport the one that could theoretically hit the others the hardest, because that would make it nascar, and no one wants that.

"which is why in america sporting events have become social functions more than anything

and i europe you go drinking before and after the game but not during

then again, a 90 minute soccer game lasts two hours with the intermission

a six minute football game lasts three and a half, so you have to re-up on alcohol"

That is one thing I love about soccer. It's over in 2 hours even with 5 minutes of injury time. Two weeks ago I had to sit through the last minute (5 minutes) of the Tennessee vs Rutgers women's game before CBS switched over to the NCSU vs UF game. MLS fans are also lucky enough to have to miss the beginning of MLS Thursday Night because of the WNBA. The two longest WNBA games were on ESPN2 and caused the soccer fans to miss almost an entire half. The thread title really needs to be, "Women's Basketball on TV Sucks!"

That is good to hear. The problem is that ESPN doesn't allow enough time for baseball, basketball, tennis, and football to end on time. I'm still pissed at ESPN for forcing Wolfpack fans to watch BYU throw the football the entire 4th quarter in a game against Hawaii that they were losing 72-45. We had to watch BYU get their ass kicked while Julius Hodge and NC State were upsetting Syracuse in basketball. ESPN was smart enough to switch to basketball with about 8 minutes to go in the half since the football game had run over by about 45 minutes.
